Q:Cant get the bolt loose fromthe fan that is attached to the water pump in my ford ranger. need to remove bolt in order to remove water pump.
You need a special tool that grasps and holds the water pump pulley by the four bolts that secure the pulley to the pump, while you loosen the fan by using the correct size of wrench to turn it CLOCKWISE to remove. The hex of the fan clutch is LEFT-HAND threaded on this particular vehicle application. You may need to heat the hex of the nut slightly with an oxy/acetylene torch if too much force is required to crack the hex loose. Once loosened, simply spin it off with your hand by the blade until it is removed. Hope this helps.
Q:i have a 1996 camaro rs v6 that needs a new water pump, the old one is leaking from a failsafe type hole.i know that im probably not gonna get one but its simply the perfect time to so if i am so... but should i consider getting an electric water pump instead of the $50 origional replacement? the car has no 'real' mods and i know the electric water pump would be a two horse difference, and that it is a mostly race type modification. so i had to ask because if i was to do this mod, now is the time. so what do you think? things like average cost of a good name like meziere , how hard to wire, etc.thanks
Get.the.normal hose then think bout what you need to do
Q:water pump has small leak
Remove the pump and remove the harden rubber gasket all around it and put a permanently elastic sealing compound/sealing compound then reinstall the pump, good luck!
Q:we live in the country in the warm months and have a portable pump that takes water from a 15 foot deep well. It feeds water to a toilet and a hot water tank mostly and a sink and shower and washer. We put the pump outside the bathroom and need to know how to start it, thanks!
Lonzo has it right
Q:We use this water pump for about 2 years, and in the last week the circuit breaker trip when we turn on the pump. What should I check first for the problem?
Is it a circuit breaker or a GFCI that is tripping? If a circuit breaker then the pump motor could be frozen or is binding, circuit maybe over loaded because there in now something else plugged into it or the circuit breaker is wearing out. If it is GFCI (and on a pump it probably should be) then you have a ground fault condition in the pump motor or the wiring. In which case I would suggest hire an electrician to sort out the problem.
Q:I was vacuuming up water from my basement I assumed was from the rain, suddenly water started spraying out of a blue pump at the base of my furnace, don't know what the pump does or why its spraying but its making an awful mess.
Blue pump, usually found on the floor near the furnace (sometimes mounted where plenum meets the furnace frame) is a condensate pump. One of the products of combustion is water. This water is drained from the ventor motor (a motor which runs and sets a artificial draft inside the combustion chamber) to a drain nearby or a electric pump which then pumps the water over a longer distance to a remote drain. If the pump's discharge outlet gets plugged from dirt the result is usually the mess you see. Remove the cover plate of the pump housing, clean it out and run a wire with a small rag attached as a snake through the tube to drain. There is usually some type of float switch inside the pump housing so make sure it is free to move. Check for operation by pouring some tap water in it and move the float switch to on (up) One final note and this is very important. If the pump or tube to drain is filled up with a crud that resembles paste, call your local trusted HVAC tech for furnace service. This condition can be an early sign of heat exchanger failure and is a major safety concern for your family
Q:I was wondering if there was a device that can pump and cool water. What I am looking for is essentially an aquarium pump that cools the water as it circulates.

Q:my sump pump keeps filling with sewer water. i cant figure out why or where it could be coming from. and the smell is awful.
A sump pump is designed for use in the basements of homes whose water tables make them prone to flooding. Many basements are actually below the water table. This means that should the integrity of the walls or floor of the basement be breached, the basement could flood. This would result in thousands of dollars of water damage to anything in the basement, as well as the loss of anything irreplaceable that's stored there. Even should no breach occur, a great deal of moisture and condensation forms over of time within such spaces. Typically the water drains into a hole in the basement floor called a sump pit. When the water level in the hole rises to a certain level, the sump pump engages and removes the water. A pedestal sump pump, for example, has a long rod that extends down into the sump pit. At the top of the rod sits an electrical motor. Beside the rod is an inflated plastic bubble such as the kind one finds in flush toilets, attached to a pressure switch. When the water level rises beyond the bubble, the bubble is buoyed upward and activates the pressure switch. The switch turns on the electric motor, which sucks the water out of the sump pit and passes it through a connecting PVC pipe. This pipe may lead outward into the soil away from the house's foundation, or it may be connected to the wastewater system that connects to the house's drains and toilets. In either case, the water is pumped out automatically.
Q:97 izusu rodeo has constant squeal after timing belt, water pump and all belts being replaced what could be the cause. It sounds pretty bad.
If the water pump has been replaced I would suspect either the alternator, the belt tensioner, or the A/C compressor. It's usually one of the first two and not the later, but check all three. It's an izusu so my guess is the alternator barring is worn out. Generally, In my experience, the power steering pump will not squeal unless it's ran low on fluid. The barring in the power steering pumps are usually submerged in the power steering fluid. I could be wrong but I'd check the tensioner and alternator first. Also check any idler wheels.
Q:Theirs a house on a hill and a pond at the bottom of the hill what kind of pump can pull water 50ft up a hill?
A water suction style pump can only pull at maximum , 30 ft vertical (more like 25 with inefficiencies). You didn't specify if it was 50 ft vertical distance up the hill or just 50 ft from the pond on a grade with maybe a smaller than 25ft vertical height difference. If it is less than 25 you can use the cheap centrifugal pumps or diaphragm pumps located at the house. By far it is a better choice to use a pump at the pond to push the water uphill instead of pulling it. A cheap submersible sump pump (less than $70, for a 1/3 hp electric, like a Wayne or something) will pump uphill no problem and doesn't draw much current. If you want to keep the line continuously pressurized you will need a pressure tank in your house and a pressure switch to shut off the pump once it gets to predetermined psi setting If you have a true vertical 50ft distance you might want to install a positive displacement submersible pump in the pond. The more I think about it, the more I think a centrifugal pump (the cheapest design) would have a difficult time pumping 50 ft uphill. So go with a positive displacement style, the same type they put in wells. With the pump put directly in the water you don't have to prime the pump each time you start it either. These pumps do run several hundred dollars though
