Q: Im looking at buying those colored decals that u put outside of your rim that just boarder it. i can‘t think of what they are called but im sure someone knows what im talking about. im just looking for a good and secure website to order them off of, thanks
It's called rim tape. You can get it on OKorder for a good price and as long as you make sure the seller has good feedback you should have a good secure buy.
Q: I usually would go through my honda dealer but they just recently changed owners and have been being a real pain to deal with. does anyone know of a reputable source for cruiser tires, hopefully one that will ship to Alaska for less than an arm, leg, and left nut?
since its a cruiser you only need an H rated tire and any bike dealer can get what you need.
Q: I have a Kawasaki ZX-11 and I just got it out for the summer. I checked the tires and they were really low (about 25 psi front, 30 rear). I noticed after filling them up to the recommended 40/40 the bike feels much heavier and in some/many ways harder to control on the corners (I pretty much live on a mountain). The rear tire is new and the front is due for replacement sometime this year. The bike weighs 585-615lbs wet, and I don‘t weigh enough to really anger the thing. I want to stick with the lower PSI as I like the feel of it. I know about the dangers of running exceedingly low PSI in the tires (thinking 25psi or less), but I want to know a low, yet safe, PSI I can run on it town and on the mountain. Thanks in advance!
This Site Might Help You. RE: What PSI should you run in motorcycle tires? I have a Kawasaki ZX-11 and I just got it out for the summer. Q: I know motorcycles in general are not necessarily safe, but I‘m planning on getting my first bike and want to know the pro‘s and cons of each? Would a bike like a Kawasaki Ninja 250r be safe enough or a louder cruiser type bike like a Honda Rebel? Also, do skinny rear tires like on the 2008 Ninja 250r make a huge difference in terms of traction and such?
First, motorcycles in general are very safe. It's usually the rider who is not. Second a cruiser type is NOT louder than a sport type. They both have to meet the same noise levels. It's only after they leave the dealer that the noise changes. And sport types change their mufflers as well. Tires can and do make a difference. Many times, wider is not better. Narrow tires are a little quicker in the turns. The weight they carry is more concentrated, instead of spread out. This is one reason that traction is at least the same, if not better. OK, arguments and such aside: You have listed two cycles that are pretty much opposite in style, seating, and handling. This leads me to believe that (no offense) you don't really know what you want yet. I would suggest taking a learner's course such as the one offered by the MSF. They provide a bike in the 250cc range for the class. You will get the opportunity to talk to people who actually ride. At the end, you will have a much better idea of what really suits YOU. And that's what it's all about. YOU. nobody else is going to be stuck with your decision.
Q: I‘m considering Michelin Pilot Power, which are fairly low-priced. Are there others which are excellent and moderately priced I should consider?
When I moved from LA to Fort Wayne IND, I got a ski bib and down jacket. I was sweating walking around in the snot at minus 70 DEG.
Q: How long should a set of tires on a street motorcycle last with typical use.?
depends on how yo ride the bike if you dont burn out it should last at least 6 months
Q: I am looking to get away one weekend to San Luis Obispo for such an activity- but I can‘t find relevant information on it likely because I don‘t know the proper name of the activity (or the motor vehicle used for it). Can anyone help? Thanks,
Either an ATV, Dune Buggy, or Sand Rail. Try those.
Q: with a different brand of tire, I had botgh Dunlops on front and rear, but I don‘t think they give me good lasting miles, I have a vt1100 and I only got about 500 miles from my rear tire I was thinking about a brand of tire named Shinko, ever heard of em, if not can I get a good recomendation on a tire that lasts for more than 5000 miles
500 miles? What are you doing? Burnouts? Using soft compound racing tires? something is not right there. NO tire will last 5000 miles if you are abusing it or using a racing compound tire on the street. You can start with the tire that your owner's manual suggests and move on from there. There is NO reason you can't get 5000 miles out of a rear on that bike. Yes, you can use brands other than Dunlop or another model from Dunlop. Not all tires are made for the same mission. Shinkos are a cheaper tire that has a harder compound and tend to last longer than other brands. Harder compound tires often last longer at a cost of less traction, which, depending on your riding style, may be important to you or not.
Q: My fiance and i love going out on his harleywhere could i find a cake topper with a couple on a motorcycle?also, whats the best way to exit on the back of a harley when im in my wedding gown or should a change? I already plan on having a veil attached to the helmet hehe. suggestions?
Well theres nothing wrong with rollers its better to roll your hair anyways because you dont have to add alot of heat, but then again with rollers you only have once chance if it doesnt come out right you could end up with a bad hair day
