Q: Connecting a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD to a 2008 Kia Sorento. I have connected the wire harness to the back of the stereo by matching each color. My issue is I have 2 wires left on each side.I have a blue wire on the wire harness, and on the stereo side I have a blue/white wire that says system remote start. Do these 2 need to go together, even though they are different color scheme, yet both are blue?Same thing with the orange wire on the harness, and I have an orange/white on the stereo, do these two need to be connected?Thanks!
The blue wire is a power antenna wire. If your car does not have a power antenna you do not need to connect this wire. If you do have one, the blue/ white wire from the stereo will work if it does not have a solid blue wire. The orange wires should be connected together. That wire dims the display on your stereo at night when you turn on the headlights.
Q: I have a carrier thermostat with red, green, yellow, white and blue wires. Bought a new honeywell, omly has red, green, yellow and white terminals. What do I do with the blue wire. Right now it is connected to rc with no jumper, but nothing works.
This is an educated guess, even though we don't know how the furnace is wired. In many cases, the blue wire is used for C (common). Tape off or snip off the end of the blue wire and don't use it. Put the red wire on the RC terminal. Jump RC to R or RH if you have heat. Connect the other wires to their corresponding terminals. If blue is common, there's a good chance you blew the fuse on the control board (if your air handler has one) and/or you fried the transformer. That is, if you tried turning on the A/C.
Q: I need a wiring guide or diagram for the stereo of a 2005 ford taurus. somethig that will show which wires are for front and rear speakers, and the remote start wire
if you are installing a radio you dont need that the wires should match and they have codes to match written on them
Q: How do I wire an outlet that has two black and to white wires. It this case the white being the HOT wires?? Don't know why all the white wires in my house are HOT.. And the black are nuetral???
Just use what is called a pigtail add take a short piece of white wire and wire nut it to the other two thenyou will have one wire to hook to the outlet.Do the same with the black. Be sure you turn the power off before attempting any wiring task. Black on the brass screw and White on the silver screw on the outlet.
Q: Okay so I just finished replacing a stolen car radio, but I think I messed up the wiring... When I turn off the car the radio doesn't seem to save the presets I had... it resets the whole stereo... I think it has something to do with the wiring I did... When I installed the radio there were two 12+ volt wires... One said 12+ volt constant and was yellow, and the other said 12+ volt switch and was pink... Problem was when I wired only the yellow one the car stereo wouldn't work, so I tried the pink one and that didn't work.. SO thinking I was clever I wired both to the 12+ volt and VOILA the radio turned on... Problem is I don't think that's how I was supposed to wire it... I have a '97 Honda accord Ex and I don't know if that's what I was supposed to do... :#92;
A car stero needs 3 main wires Constant Power (Normally Yellow) for memory like radio presets Switched Power (Normally Red) Switched by the cars ignition so your radio turns on/off with your keys You can wire these two together as long as its a constant feed, youll just have to turn it off yourself... but then it will work when the ignition is off as well that way and Earth (Normally black) The rest of the wires if you pay attention you can pair them up to form the front speakers and rear speakers, it looks to me like... this is going to take sometime to get my head around ill edit it ounce ive worked it out... Either way youv got your red and black there thats positive and negative, it will turn on with those. How many speakers in the car, and are they orginal, I asume all wires have an open end? the four black and white ones sound like someones added them, and put non orginal speakers in.
Q: what do i do? the wire just snapped.
There isn't much you can do over the weekend unless your orthodontist is willing to come in tomorrow to help you out. If you have any brace wax, push a glob of wax on the broken ends and that will keep them from cutting the inside of your mouth. If you don't have any brace wax, you can get it in the aisle where the toothbrushes, floss and stuff like that are.
Q: But I want to switch it and wire the red ceiling wire to the black fan wire and the black ceiling wire to the black/white fan wire so that the particular switches work the way I want them to. Is this ok, to switch them?
Black wire on the fan is for the fan motor, red wire in the fan is for the light, the white wire is the neutral wire. So if you do want to switch the light off and on you have to tie red wire to the switch and the black wire can be tied to the hot at the ceiling box so you can control the fan with the chain only. If you have one switch leg in your circuit then you cannot do anything but switch them both if you tie them together. I think I am understanding what you are saying here. White Alyse ties to white Black is for the fan motor and the red is for the light. If you have three wires in the switch then you can tie them the same way color to color. Hope this has not confused you You can email me if you need further help
Q: Wires in the dash*Radio constant*Radio Switched*Radio illumination**please match these up with the options below**Wires on the stereo itself*Dashboard Light Dimmer Switch*Amplifier Remote or Power Antenna (Positive +)*(fuze) yellow memory (negative -)*(fuze) red 12v (positive +)if someone could please help that would be great-since the wires were replaced i cant go by color
Car radio wire constant to stereo yellow memory. Car radio wire switched to stereo red 12v positive. Car radio wire illumination to stereo Dashboard Light Dimmer Switch. Don't forget to ground the black wire on the unit to the ground wire from the car harness. An extra ground strap to the chassis is a good idea also. If you don't have an amp or a power antenna, cap off the blue Remote/Antenna wire.
Q: I would like to know how to wire my West Marine VHF Radio.Coming out the back of the radio is a red wire, a white wire, and two black wires. The white wire and one of the black wires are a thinner gauge then the other black and red wires. Any solutions out there? Thanks
You could solder (best), or crimp connect a waterproof In Line fuse to the red wire, then connect it to a terminal Ring, and put over the red + battery post, then ground the black wire, by connecting a Terminal ring to it and put it over the NEG.- battery post. The In-Line fuse is circuit protection, OR you can by-pass this by conecting to a spare fuse on the Panel (red +), then ground the black wire to the Neg on the battery or neg - on the panel (fuse block). Direct connection to the battery is best, the other wires probably go to the Aux. Speaker which you will need as the speakers on the radio are too small to be heard over engine noise. Soldering works BEST, then coat with Liquid Lectric tape, or heat shrink tubing for a water resistant seal on the wires, and a good Marine connection. E-mail is open if further assistance is needed.
Q: i would like to hook up a cd player in my dakota but i need a wire color diagram, anyboby no where or no the colors
