Q: Grr Overstock wont ship here so i had a 8x10 ft rug shipped to my Moms house...from there I was going to pay to have it shipped here to Guam. But no Fedex wouldnt ship it and UPS either the dementions are either too small or too big. =( then i got hopeful bc a neighbor said OKorder ships here. Q: wy do we need carpets, why are carpets important? why did you buy a carpet?thanks: I think it's mainly personal preference. Carpeting does make the floor warmer---and is much softer on the feet. It comes in a rainbow of hues so it can be utilized to co-ordinate with your decorating scheme. I prefer carpeting because of these reasons but mainly because it is much easier to maintain than hardwood floors. Spills must be wiped up immediately to prevent permanent spots and warping at the seams of hardwood floors. It is much simpler in my estimation to run a sweeper and/or carpet shampooer than to re-finish and buff wooden floors.

If you are renting a place, contact the landlord. They were able to fix our carpet spot for $25 - they have to bleach and then re-dye the area to match the carpet. It saved our deposit!

How much will it cost!: You have 35.6 square yards so take that times 25 and you end up with $890.00 for that much carpet. Don't forget the pad and installation fee, sometimes it is included sometimes it is not. How I got my answer is 20*16=320 sqft. There are 9 square feet in a square yard so you divide 320/9=35.55555555555556 any carpet seller will round this off to 35.6 square yards. take 35.6sqyd * $25 = $890.00 for that much carpet. To Rob S remind me never to buy carpet from you! to get the square feet of the room you multiply the length and width 20*16 = 320 sqft for the room. Now I know that carpet rolls come in 12 and 15 foot wide rolls, and that the carpet can be sold either way by the sqyd or sqft. Just because you do it one way does not mean it is the only way.
