Q:Can someone tell me how to keep my area rug from shifting? I have it on regular carpet. Thanks.: You need to buy a rug pad. It's a piece of rubber like fabric that goes under your rug and prevents the rug from moving, bunching or curling on hard floors or carpet. You can get one at Bed Bath and Beyond for like 70-100 bucks... kinda pricey I know, but you may be able to find them cheaper.

Q:I am having new vinyl flooring installed in the bathroom and I know that rubber or latex backed rugs can stain the floor yellow. Any suggestions? Thanks!: Have you considered a foam backed bamboo rug? This won't yellow the floor and it won't slip and slide either. A rug with no backing is NOT a good idea in a bathroom. As for a rubber backed rug, if you only leave it on the floor when you use it after a shower or bath and keep it on the rim of the tub the rest of the time, it will take years and years and years before the flooring is yellowed... It's leaving it on the floor all the time that yellow the flooring...

Try K-mart, they have some nice rugs at decent prices and if the baby spills or spits up then you don't have to worry about how much money you spent on it. Make sure the backing is one that doesn't slip. If it does, make sure you buy the stuff the put on the back to keep it from sliding. I saw that at walmart the other day.

Here's what to do: Step 1 Blot the stain immediately with a clean, white cloth. Step 2 Mix a solution of 1/4 tsp. liquid hand-dishwashing soap and 1 cup lukewarm water. Step 3 Blot stain with soap solution, using a clean, white cloth. Blot from the outside of the stain, working inward. Step 4 Let sit a few minutes. Step 5 Mix a solution of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts lukewarm water. Step 6 Dab stain with vinegar solution, again working from the outside in. Step 7 Once the stain has disappeared, flush the area with cold water and blot dry with a clean, white cloth.
