- Q:How are steel coils used in the production of steel clips?
- Steel coils are used in the production of steel clips by being unwound and fed into a stamping machine, where the coils are cut into strips and then shaped into the desired clip form.
- Q:How are steel coils used in the manufacturing of construction bulldozers?
- Steel coils are used in the manufacturing of construction bulldozers as they provide the necessary strength and durability required for the heavy-duty components of the machine. These coils are typically shaped and welded to form the structural frame, blades, and bucket of the bulldozer, ensuring that it can withstand the rigorous demands of construction and earthmoving tasks.
- Q:What products can we make with steel (eg Steel strip, rod, bar, rail, tube) How are these made? What can we make from these steel products? Can you please make the answers as detailed as possible you can because i really want to know this really well. Thank you.
- Your okorder (they make steel deck and steel joists) There are thousands of other items routinely produced from steel, including rebar, and all the metal in cars, airplanes, and about a million other things.
- Q:How many millimeters is a number 3 steel crochet hook?
- This depends whether you have a US or a UK pattern. The pre metric UK size 3 was different to the US size 3. Google in compare US/UK crochet hooks and it gives a chart showing the metric/US/UK sizes.
- Q:Ok I have a neodymium magnet, stuck to my fridge holding a old bottle cap opener for my beer it works fine. At the local rummage sale there was a beautiful cap opener my freind was selling for $0.25 she said had never beenUsed it was like 40 years old it is made a stainless steel. The magnet will not stick to it. I don't understand this looked this up and certain steels are not magnetic, I tried a experiment with my compass it don't point north as should it follows the bottle opener as I move it around it. If not magnetic why is this happening? Also tried placing near another neodymium magnet with a pull of about 200 lbs. Not I tiny bit of attraction to the metal. If so why is the tiny magnet in the compass attracted to it. But not a huge powerfull magnet.
- That's interesting that it caused deflection in the compass. A lot of stainless steels may be SLIGHTLY magnetic, because they have small amounts of ferrite or alpha-iron in them. Ferrite is one of the crystal phases of steel. It has a body-centered cubic (BCC) structure and it's responsible for the magnetism of ordinary steels. Adding certain elements like nickel, manganese, or molybdenum, changes the crystal structure of the steel to a face-centered cubic (FCC) structure, which is NOT magnetic. This crystal phase is known as Austenite or gamma-iron. However most iron alloys contain some impurities that may cause the steel to be not completely transformed into the FCC austenite phase, small areas remain as ferrite.
- Q:I'm getting new strings on my dad's old acoustic guitar so I can learn how to play it and I'm wondering if I should get nylon or steel strings. Are there any major differences between the two aside from the nylon strings being easier on your fingers? Like do the Nylon strings sound different?
- If it's a classic guitar, then you should get nylon strings, because you can't use steel strings on a classic guitar, and you can't use nylon strings on an acoustic guitar , I would suggest that you buy a classic guitar, because it's really good for beginners.
- Q:How are steel coils used in the production of pipes?
- Steel coils are used in the production of pipes by being uncoiled and then passed through a series of forming and welding processes. The coils are flattened and shaped into the desired pipe size and then welded together to create a continuous length of pipe.
- Q:What are the limitations of using steel coils in certain applications?
- There are several limitations to consider when using steel coils in certain applications. Firstly, steel coils can be heavy and bulky, which makes them less suitable for applications where reducing weight is crucial. Industries like aerospace or automotive, which prioritize lightweight materials for fuel efficiency and performance improvement, may not find steel coils to be the best choice. Secondly, steel coils are prone to corrosion, especially in environments with high moisture or exposure to chemicals. This limitation can restrict their use in applications where corrosion resistance is crucial, such as marine or coastal structures. To mitigate this limitation, additional protective coatings or regular maintenance may be necessary, resulting in increased costs and maintenance efforts. Furthermore, steel coils may lack the necessary flexibility or malleability required for certain applications. Industries like construction or manufacturing, which often require materials to be easily shaped or bent into specific forms, may find steel coils inadequate in terms of flexibility. This limitation can create difficulties in achieving desired designs or may necessitate additional processing steps to mold the steel coils into the desired shape. Lastly, steel coils may have limitations in terms of temperature resistance. In high-temperature applications like furnaces or power generation, steel coils may experience thermal expansion or deformation, compromising their structural integrity. In such cases, alternative materials with higher temperature resistance, such as refractory metals or ceramics, may be more appropriate. Overall, while steel coils are versatile and widely used materials, their limitations in weight, corrosion resistance, flexibility, and temperature resistance can restrict their use in certain applications. It is important to consider these limitations and assess the specific requirements of each application when selecting materials to ensure optimal performance and durability.
- Q:What is steel made of? What are the elements other than iron?
- mainly steel made of Iron and carbon and treated in a proper process to become hard you can add some kind of other elements to get your desired proparty as Chromium,, nickle.. Cupper,, Berelyium,, Vanadium
- Q:i have a white spot on my stainless steel stove, its on the part behind the burners where the oven controls are, does anyone know what it may be and how to remove it. i have tried soap and water and stainless steel cleaner but neither worked. thanks!
- Barkeeper's Friend is the bomb for a metal and fiberglass cleaner, if it can be removed, it will remove it. I have no clue what it is thats on there.
