Q:Hi, I have Orbit valve for a section of my yard. The pressure is really low when I turn it on with my remote. When I turn it on manually at the valve, the water pressure is much higher.
Its possible the valve stem is corroded with stuff not letting it actuate properly open. Turn water off and unscrew the valve then actuate it electrically while watching for a full stroke. Make sure flow control is all the way open when inspecting valves stroke. Remember where you had it set when done or readjust. Also check the solenoid for corrosion and clean linkages. I would clean and coat with petroleum jelly. My guess is valve seat is gummed up so lube the stem and work it manually till it slides open and closed easy then test with the solenoid. Good luck!
Q:Hi.. I was looking forward to install an electric supercharger for my 2 litre non turbo engine. This unit is driven by an electric motor instead of being mechanically driven. My question is if I can install a blow off valve in between the supercharger and the inlet manifold? Will it work?
You don't need a blow off valve. They create only 2lbs of boost which will not get your intake out of vacume, let alone produce pressure. The main efect they have is they mix the air and fuel better for better combustion. Weisco did make a prototype that produced 8 psi though!!! Can't wait for that one.
Q:Kenmore washer ,cold water trickles in, pressure from faucet OK. Must entire valve be replaced?
You probably can not find a rebuilt valve or get the parts to rebuild one. If needed, it will probably need to be completely replaced. There is a good chance you do not have a valve issue. Turn the water valve off and remove the cold water line at the back of the washer. Inside the hose or on the washer itself, there should be a metal screen in the line that somewhat filters the valve and protects it from getting clogged with sediment. Remove the screen and clean or replace it. If the screen wire is not at the washer end try the valve end of the cold water line. While your there you may want to clean the hot water side also. If you are unable to clean the screen, new ones are available for minimal money at hardware stores. Yes the screen wire is necessary, by removing the line additional sediment may very well go into the valve when you turn on the water and cause a valve problem if you don't have one now.
Q:I have presta valves on my mountain bike now and only Presta valves can fit through the hole in the rim where the valve goes. If i want to start using Shrader valve tubes, because they are way more common and i can get them at Walmart, is it ok if i bore out the hole in my rim in order to get the Shrader valve to fit
Your tube probably has a Schrader valve, like a automobile tire. You can get these in the auto department of most stores and of course at auto parts stores. You might pickup a little dirt. Look at the valve to see if it's dirty. If so, press the center of the valve with a small object (small screwdriver maybe). This will blast the dirt out with air from the tube. Of course, you will then need to pump up the tire a little. If the valve gets dirty and you simply pump air in when the tire is soft or flat, you may force dirt into the valve which could cause the valve to leak. Schrader valves are replaceable. You can get these (and the tool to remove them) at an auto parts store.
Q:For those of you that have had a heart valve replaced, why did your heart valve go bad?
My dad had his replaced because he had rheumatic fever as a child. Many people have them replaced due to congenital defects of the heart. If you are asking why the replacement valve went bad, my dad still has his the original replacement. He did say that the valves made from pig, cow, or cadaver only last 5, 10, 15 years.
Q:just picked up my test results from cardiologist and I see it says: Assessment: 1+ tricuspid valve insufficiency and 1+ pulmonic valve insufficiency Aim 19 years old this test is a year old. (Never went back to the doc to get them until now) the reason I went back is because I feel a slight discomfort in my chest from time to time. Is not pain just discomfort that I get from walking moderate distance or lifting 20+ LB things. Please help
I easily have / had a nicely documented by using protection force Dr's (i become a protection force Brat) murmurer, I went to MEPs in 1979. 2 diff Dr's listened to my heart and that i handed the Phys. The Air stress realized about 6 months in via me getting ill and going into the well being midsection(when I run a extreme temp it shows up extra). i become despatched to a civilian heart specialist who after operating many try recommended the AF that i does no longer have any issues. Vet-USAF ad: My finished existence the Dr's would tell me i'd not in any respect get contained in the protection force. reliable success
Q:Hey guys. I need help. Sorry this might not go here... but i couldnt find a 'good' category to put it in. This is for an engineering project for college.Im looking for shielded core solenoid valves that can with stand 95-98% sulfuric acid. With this in mind not very many materials are usable, right now we are looking for HDPE (High-density polyethylene). The size of the valves and cost is unimportant. Main thing is finding someone who sells HDPE solenoid valves. For more clarification on what we are looking for, below shows a shielded core solenoid valve from ASCO. The more acidic resistant material they offer however is a FKM. Which can only withstand ~60% sulfuric acid solutions.
In practice, engineers do not use solenoid valves directly on chemical or process lines. They are bound to leak and cause danger particularly in your case of 98% sulphuric acid. Use a mechanical valve actuated by a motor (since cost is no issue to you) If an air supply is available, then you can use pneumatic diaphragm valve operated by a solenoid valve. Motorised valve has slower fixed open close time VS faster adjustable open close time for air operated valves.
Q:im looking at buying a 1995 ford probe, but it has a busted valve in the head, does anyone know how much it would cost to have fixed?
When you say busted valve, do you mean a bent valve, or a broken valve? if you meant broken valve, i guarantee you my friend, that car is something that you do NOT want to invest your money into. a broken valve can cause and may have already caused all sorts of further damage. this can include exhaust fumes leaking into the cooling system and over-heating the engine, engine cylinder or gasket leaks causing oil to mix with coolant, broken timing belt, blown head gasket, and the list goes on. i HIGHLY recommend you stay clear of a broken valve. if you meant bent valve, this is generally not as serious, but is something to be very cautious of. the best way to check for a bent valve is to have a compression check done. a mechanic can do this, or you can do it yourself if you buy a compression checker. if the valve is indeed bent, the first thing you will want to find out is WHY it got bent. generally this happens because the timing belt slips or the valve has a leak from being stuck open. if this is the case, you might be looking at coughing up $300, maybe a little more, maybe a little less. but before dumping your money on fixing a bent valve, you want to get a professional inspection and make sure that this bent valve didn't cause damage to anything else. i hope this will help you with your question and with your decision on buying or not buying the car. good luck!
Q:Because I plan to remove mine on a 2000 Eclipse GT.Thank you all..
