- Q: How to get rid of electrical heather stain on a white leather sofa???
- If you mean heater stain as in your heater was plugged in and on and near you sofa and now there is a brown stain on your sofa then you probably can't get it out. what has occurred is that you have actually burnt your sofa and that is a scorch mark. You may be able to get some leather dye/paint and cover the spot but you can't wash away burns.
- Q: i have a black bed but didn't choose curtains and sofa yet.
- Are the walls staying pink? Is that the color for a bedroom and a living room? ...if you absolutely have to work with that color...why not do white curtains with a black border stripe. For the sofa...how about a contemporary gray color. Bring out pops of color with a throw and toss pillows...and you don't have to stay with all pink theme either. If you want, you can do a light cream color sofa....add pops of greens mixed with tropical hues of pinks and creams for pillows. (That's what I would pick). You can always switch out to browns/pinks for autumnal look when seasons change.

- First okorder / then I think you mean suede sofa if so after the product is dry take a very soft brush (you could use a very soft tooth brush) but a suede brush like the ones used for shoes and boots is best, and brush the fabric softly till the nap stands up to match the rest of the couch. good luck! =)

- Q: i just moved with my husband (active US Army) to Germany..I have my country's passport and my husband is a US Citizen..I know for tourist,that its up to 90 days to live in Germany..Im command sponsored but was told to get a SOFA stamp in order to reside in Germany..For those who were stationed in Germany or overseas know that its about 2-3 years to be stationed overseas..i was told in order to get a SOFA stamp,i need to get some kind of USA visa (green card)..theres some spouse,same situation,just applied for SOFA stamp and got approved without getting a permenant residence card (green card)...the military legal is no help and its hard getting thru the US consulate..any suggestion would help..thanks :)
- You don't need a green card. It's no longer a stamp, but a card. Either way, depending on where he is stationed have him contact the Passport/SOFA office. You need your passport, marriage certificate, a copy of his orders with your name on it and you should be good to go. NB: Citizens of certain countries may not be eligible for the same day issue. It may require processing but they should be able to tell you and your husband if that is the case with you.

- It looks like office furniture to me and I find the size of the arms obnoxious. Somehow the scale of the piece seems off...But, I would be more concerned with the construction if you like the style. Is it made with hardwoods, 8 way hand tied or clipped, reinforced joinery and what is the grade of leather? What is inside of the cushions and are the covers removable? What is the slide factor - leather tends to slide on leather. Can the piece float in the room (i.e. is the back finished). Are the seams double stitched and what with?

- I'm not a carpenter, but I'm pretty sure you cannot take the frame off the door. If it doesn't fit with the door removed, I would see about returning the sofa, assuming you haven't unwrapped it.
- Q: ok I have one of those imitation micro fiber sofas, and I have a problem.. My hubby insist that it is ok for our 300 lb. English Mastiff to get up on the couch... it drived me insane but I try to ignore it... however now, there are 2 tears in the fabric.. they are L shaped, (almost like a box knife caused it) and are only about an inch in length.. the fabric still meets together if you know what I mean (there isn't a hole, only a tear). My husband won't listen and insists that it is not from the dog, but I do know better.... Anyhow my question is how do I try and repair this without it being too noticable... - I've had a sofa and a few chairs reupholstered. The sofa was the most expensive because of the amount of materials needed. I think I paid about $175 for that and about $100 each for the chairs. But I didn't have to pay labor because my mom did them for me. Some tech colleges offer upholstery classes and you can do your own for less than paying a professional or sometimes the people in the class are looking for projects to do.
