- Your PS/2 mouse is not plug and play but your usb one is, you might want to plug the mouse in when the unit is off and turn it back on, see if this fixes it! Or unplug the unit for 1 min then plug it back in with the new mouse pluged in. You might try going into bios and enable plug and play mouse or enable PS/2 mouse. Le t us know if this works. If it is a USB keyboard then try a different USB port. if it still fails, then try your keyboard on a separate compute. If it is a PS/2 keyboard and the keyboard works fine on a different machine, then your PS/2 port is junk and you should purchase a USB keyboard. - process of elimination.
