Q:Two days ago they worked fine. I get into my car today and they won‘t turn on, not even a sound. No position will make a sound/make them function. Windshield wiper fluid will come out but again the wipers will not function. I have a 03 saturn ion, and I checked one of the fuses, but theres no way knowing if the diode‘s are dead. anyone have any ideass? Thanks.
There is a way to know if the fuses are dead. replace them!!! Pull the fuse and have a close look. A replacement is like $2.00 for a couple fuses. If the fuses are OK, then you have a bigger problem. Bad wiper switch, bad motor, broken connection in the wiring, etc. In the meantime, get some RAIN X and apply it to the windshield. IT will make driving in the rain easier.
Q:I need to change my windshield wiper on the driver side of my car. The rubber is literally flapping in the breeze. It's snowing outside and I need to leave in a couple hours for about a 45 minute drive. It's snowing bad enough that I'm afraid that if it hits the windshield and melts quick enough, I won't be able to see.So, here's the problem. I have a '91 Buick century. I bought an Anco wiper arm (plus the rubber), but looking at it now, I cant for the life of me figure out how to change it. It looks like it has a pin that has to be taken out before anything can be done, but I'm not sure. Anyone who has any suggestions/knows how to change this model, PLEASE let me know.
It should be a hook type. there is a little tab that you depress and it will slide out backwards. If you need reference, just look at the passenger side. Hopefully, you are in a lot or service area where someone might help you as well. You may want to start with that. I know it's cold, but take your time and get it right or you will wind up having your new blade fly off. AND DON'T LET THAT WIPER ARM HIT THAT WINDSHIELD BY SPRINGING BACK. IT WILL BREAK.!!!!!!! Good Luck to you
Q:I just bought a used 2001 Monte Carlo and the window wipers stay up all the time. They work, but when I stop using them they go back to being parallel. Does anyone know how to fix this or has had the same problem with their wipers and knows how to fix it?? Please help!!
The wiper motor has a built in switch that is responsible to keep power on until it completes it's cycle at the bottom. I'm not sure it is adjustable. You may have to work with the motor assy to find out and the only other way for you to get them to stop where they need to be is get a new motor assy or you could remove the constant power supply wire going to the motor plug and then they will stop where you turn them off, just like when you turn off the key.
Q:I turned on my wiper today accidentally, the windshield was frozen with ice on it. the wiper came up 1/4 of the way and stopped with moving 1 inch up and down periodically but nothing else. I was able to push the wipers down and cleaned off the ice that was present in the beginning of the wiper. Now the wiper only comes up 1/4 of hte way and goes up and down an inch. what could be the problem?
sounds like you got ice down on your wiper arms, stopping them from moving them up all the way.if you can reach the arms, try breaking the ice away.
Q:i need to replace my windshield wiper blades on my 2002 toyota.which are the best ones to buy??thanks!!!!
I have been through just about every windshield wiper brand out there because I have a 2 setting wiper control on my 82 s10 so blades are gonna wear quick! So far my personal favorite that has been quiet and has out last, Bosch, Trico, Anco, Michelin, Teflon, and all the others have been Rain-X. They will cost you about 20 dollars or more a blade but well worth it!
Q:The windshield wipers on my 1999 civic stopped working out of the blue. I tried changing the fuse and still nothing. I‘m not sure if it‘s the wiper motor either because when I turn my wipers on I hear the motor going - but my blades stay still. Any ideas ??
It is possible that they need to be tightened down. There is a bolt where the wiper arm meets the motor. Take it off and look inside and make sure that the groves did not get stripped. If they are you may need a new wiper arm.
Q:windshield wipers freezing to the windshield is a pain to resolve. I see other vehicles with theirs up away from the windshield. Idk how to do that. And i dont want to break my wipers
I think you're asking about when you're parked as opposed to when you're driving. right? With most cars your windshield wipers will bend up and away from the windshield at a joint in the wiper arm (note - not the blade itself). It shouldn't take too much effort to get them to bend at the joint, and then they'll stick out, away from the window. In the midwest, where I live, you see a lot of people leaving their windshield wipers like this when they park in the winter - makes scraping the ice and snow off your windows a lot easier.
Q:My driver side windshield wiper stopping moving on my 1999 Isuzu Trooper. My passenger wiper still moves when I turn my wipers on, but my driver side wiper doesn‘t. It happened the day after a huge freeze. Could I fix it myself or do I need to take it to a mechanic?
you will desire to in no way attempt to function the windshield wipers devoid of first clearing the snow off the window and making particular the wiper blade isn't caught to the window from the ice. continually pop them faraway from the windo first. you have gotten stripped the equipment flow, and would would desire to change the motor. you will desire to be waiting to discover one at a junk backyard exceptionally decrease priced.
Q:I currently have a 2004 Pontiac Vibe, and they are using the Stock Windshield Wiper Blades.I want to know, what are the best Blades that I could purchase for my car, that don‘t leave streaks when it rains? The ones I have now are alright, but they don‘t have even pressure. What would be the best Blades, I could use that keep even pressure, and do not leave streaks during rain storms? How much would they cost? How much would the be, Installed? And where could I purchase them? Thanks in advanced!
