Q:I have a 98 honda civic, and my windshield wipers will not turn on. I have changed the fuse but it hasn‘t worked, does anybody know what could be the problem?

Please try and get a electrical circuit tester with indicator, loop up battery - terminal and wiper motor wire link if it lights, then the motor maybe fused, if not you may have to trace the electrical circuit. Happy huntnig.

stop in at your local toyota dealer and buy either the inserts or the wiper and they will put it on for you at no charge if you are not sure how to do it. the inserts only work if you have the original toyota wipers on you car. good luck

The rear wiper switch is part of the same stalk as the front wiper switch. Just an inner ring that you turn to activate. Very easy to accidentally activate the rear when turning on the fronts. Check your owners manual to be certain but that is where it is located on all the Fords I have had.

Q:All right i allready have swallowed my pride to post this question, feeling like less of a man, cant even change my own wipers!! I live in mn and its currently -10F outside, and i need to replace my wipers. There is a clip that you push up on the wiper, got that, but dont know if i have to push on the blade to lodge it loose or what. With the temp so low i dont want to break the plastic clip, thats the reason i ask. Any help is appreciated!!!

Hi No need for panic. :) First go outside, start the car, and turn on the cars heat/window defroster. Let it warm up about 15 minutes. Then open the glove box and turn to page 230 of your owners manual. It says (and gives a diagram of): CHANGING THE WIPER BLADES 1. Pull the wiper arm away from the vehicle. Turn the blade at an angle from the wiper arm. Push the lock pin manually to release the blade and pull the wiper blade down toward the windshield to remove it from the arm. 2. Attach the new wiper to the wiper arm and press it into place until a click is heard. I hope this helps.

Could be three things. Most common is a fuse is blown. Check that first. Second most common is that the arm leading from the motor to the wiper is broken. Then if both of the above are ok then the motor is out. The motor is usually less than $70

Q:I noticed during a ice or snow storm they leave them up in the air. Won‘t they still freeze up in the air if there is freezing rain? Just curious.

this keeps the wipers from freezing to the windshield if the rain freezes the wipers in the air a quick tap usually frees them up and when the window warms up the wipers are able to move freely
