- Q:On a 2003 Sonata car, is the brake monitoring system. a part of the yellow engine light?
- Brake monitoring indication should not be mixed with other or combined with other parameters and should be separated in the dashboard with clear vision to the driver as per safety norms. In case where space constrain is there, risk involved while noticing the indication and in that case audio is also necessary
- Q:i just had my brakes replaced i have a 1994 pontiac grand am se they said my rotors were good however when i left the shop a few days later my brakes were going to the floor when i took the car back to have them recheck since they replaced my brakes they said my brakes were fine that it was my ABS that wasn‘t working and I would still be safe driving,I don‘t feel comfortable with my brakes flooring everyonce in awhile and the cost to fix the ABS is enourmous for me does anyone know what the ABS is exactly for and is there anything else i can do besides repairing it?
- Is your ABS (antilock braking system) light on? Was it on before you went for the original repair? We have encountered the same problem before. It is, contrary to what the garage said, usually just air trapped in the lines. Ask them to rebleed the system, if they refuse to do that, then take it to another garage and have them do it. If this fixes your problem, have the other garage write a bill with that stated on it and present it to the first garage for payment. Many vehicles with ABS require that the bleeder be opened prior to a caliper being pushed back so that the ABS pump is not damaged by pushing fluid back into it.
- Q:What is the braking system cald that rock cralers use ware you pull one lever and one tire locks up but all the other keep going.
- It's a locking differencial, and has nothing to do with independent brakes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locking_dif... A locking differential or locker is a variation on the standard automotive differential. A locking differential provides increased traction compared to a standard, or "open" differential by disallowing wheel speed differentiation between two wheels on the same axle under certain conditions. A locking differential is designed to overcome the chief limitation of a standard open differential by essentially "locking" both wheels on an axle together as if on a common shaft while still allowing them to rotate at different speeds when it i
- Q:It seems my parking brake is not working. I left my car on Neutral, pressed brake pedal and latched the parking brake. When I did that, the car was rolling. Could this be costly to fix?
- No, most cars have two different types of braking systems - one for the handbrake and the other for the pedal brake. As long as the brake pads are not too worn, the parking brake problem can easily be fixed by tightening up the linkage. But from your description, it seems as though BOTH the brake systems are faulty - since you mentioned that you pressed the brake pedal as well as latching the handbrake without effect. Replacing the brake pads is fairly cheap, tightening the handbrake linkage shouldn't cost anything, air bubbles in your brake fluid could be fixed cheaply too. The only expensive thing would be if you have worn discs that need to be replaced. Hope it helps.
- Q:I had an car accident. It costed $2500 for body shop. Then it was told that mechanical repair is needed for brake system since brake fluid leak. How much might it cost? Thanks
- That's a LOT of money for a Saturn. I hope you got some insurance settlement for the repair. Depends how severe the leak is. Possibly the master cylinder or one of the brake cylinders. Either way the brakes need to be bled again so include that into the bill as well. Contact a shop about the pricing. This is yahoo answers not yahoo mechanic quotes
- Q:Porsche Cayenne's Brake System?
- Provide active Porsche Suspension Management System (pasm) For those who wish to experience the ultimate power performance of the driver, Porsche cayman s can be equipped with Porsche initiative is the suspension management system. The system can effectively provide two suspension settings on a car: one for comfortable cruises and daily driving, and one for Challenge and Cross-country races. Compared with the standard cayman s chassis, pasm offers a more comfortable suspension for smoother driving quality, especially on soft pavements. However, when the driver moves more rough, the suspension automatically hardens.
- Q:After youve finished intro?Electrical Systems, Engine construction and recondition, steering suspensions, Brake systems, or Heating /Air conditioningWhich is the best follow to intro especially if i want to start helping fix family cars to a certain extenet soon?
- I am a transmission specialist and make very good money. the transmission is by far the most complicated part of any vehicle. You will learn computer systems and how engine controls affect transmissions. if you master transmissions you can fix anything
- Q:990 mounted brakes and good cable
- Non-conducting materials have an effect.
- Q:Sat I was driving and had NO brakes. Checked the fluidthere was barely any. Bought some pput it in, seemed ok. Tookit to where I had fixed. I bought the wrong fluid, they flushed it out and cleaned it up for free. They could not find any leaks, etc. So what does this mean? Does the mean the original person, messed something up and if so what? Thanks.
- leak or bad brakes low fluid is a sign of first fill it and then look under and behind wheels for wet spots a better shop if you can drive it a tow truck if you cant doesnt mean first one did anything wrong but cant say a master cydinder can go bad anytime can bust a brake hose or line anytime not checking fluids once a month as one should any low a sign of leak or one needs checking
