- Im looking at putting a little cabin on my property for hunting. i have a 200 gallon under ground water tank for fresh water. I'm needing a pump to run water into the cabin for a sink toilet and possibly a shower. does anyone know what style pump i will need so that it does not constantly build up pressure when not in use that way i don't burn it up.
- The way wells work is there's a pump at the bottom. It pumps water into a holding tank that has a diaphragm separating water from an air charge. There's also a pressure sensor switch that kicks the pump on when the pressure in the water tank drops below 40 PSI and shuts it off when it reaches 60 PSI. Well water systems don't just run the pump constantly, or they would burn up. What you want to do is use your storage tank as a source. Pump that into a smaller holding tank from a well water system so that when you run the water you run it from the pressure in the holding tank. When the pressure is low enough the main tank pump will pump up the pressure in the holding tank back to 60 PSI and shut off again. It's well worth it to make sure you don't have leaks. Otherwise your main tank will end up empty and the pump will run on and on. Which is another thing you have to watch for. You can install a float level switch so that if the water in the main tank drops below a certain level it shuts the pump off. AND you can also have it switch a warning light on so you know when the big tank is empty. Hope this helps. '')

- You might need a new foot valve. That keeps the water from draining back into the well. Depending on what type of pump you have, could be at the bottom of the well. To bleed the well, you need to remove the plug on the motor...it looks like a nut...about 3/4. You remove that and fill with water...when its full, turn the pump on and keep filling it till it gushes out...put the plug in (with new teflon tape) and it should work. Be careful not to touch the electrical, could get shocked. Its easy if the foot valve is good.
- I have to replace the hot water recirculating pump in my house. It is made in Hungary and the Manufacturer's letters look almost Russian. The only words in English are the spec's (amp draw, voltage, etc.) This house was built in 1998 and the plumber's no longer in business. - The fan is mounted on the front of the water pump. Find the fan and right behind it is the water pump. Should be a big black circle looking thing. I know the water pump is not round. I didn't mean it was round. The thing the fan mounts to is round, which is part of the water pump. Yeah I noticed that too bluto: kinda funny
- I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider that I'm pretty sure needs a new water pump. It is still under warranty for another 1000 miles, but the nearest dealer is over 200 miles away, and Mitsubishi says they won't reimburse for work done at a non-Mitsubishi Dealer. I'm trying to figure out if the cost of just paying someone to have it done here in town versus having towed 200 miles and then driving it back, plus the lost cost of missed work.By the way my Mitsubishi Roadside Assistance will tow it to the nearest dealer for free, but last time I did that it was barely worth the hassle of dealing with their very poor contract towers.
- Have you asked the dealer to send you the part at least? Call Mitsubishi and ask it that would be possible, you never know. You could send in the old pump and possibly get compensation. Keep your bills. Discuss it with them. Your dealer should provide you with the area Mitsubishi representatives contact information. The prices for those can be expensive. Ask the dealer, service dept, for the labour, how many hrs. to change the pump. They should tell you. Also for the cost of the pump. Add the two together and you have your ans. Join CAA, or AAA, get a gold card, wait two days for the card's towing to take effect, then have it towed in on the card. Done all the time. Or if you have a relative with a Gold card they can have it towed in as long as they are with the car with their card when the tow truck comes.

- I vote for the check valve in the well drop pipe. The valve and seat are both brass - no rubber seal - so it's bound to always leak somewhat. If the leak has increased recently, it's due to wear beginning to show or a bit of sand caught in it. A little extra on the electric bill is a lot less than the cost of pulling the well to replace the $20.00 valve. Another possibility:Your pressure tank air cushion may have lost air and become partially waterlogged. This will increase the pump operation. It won't run as long but it will run more often. The system pressure will drop faster than normal. Perhaps this is what you perceive as a leak. Ask your well man how to check the air pressure in your particular tank.
- s10 blazer with 130k original miles.. is leaking water but not from the water pump... just replaced it and still leaking from the same area... where are the freeze plugs located? where else could it be leaking from? it lools like its coming from harmonic balancer or close by!!
- look at the housing that the water pump bolts to ,it may be busted and there's some of the bolts that go all the way through in to the block if those wasn't coated with sealant it will still leak from the bolts that hold the water pump on,and that will make it appear to be leaking from the front cover,you got two freeze plugs in the front and three down each side,good luck with it,
