Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q:I am making a bbq and decided to make saladI am planning to put it in an aluminum trayQuestion: how long can I leave it outside before it goes bad? Does it go bad since there is a cover for it? Should I put it in ice instead?
Place Damp Paper towels over greens w/ a few ice cubes around the top Or if you can use a Stainless Steel Salad Bowl put the towel covered bowl inside a larger bowl of Ice Water
Q:i'm sorry, i have ask this before, but in different categories.I still want to collect some of your idea PMe my group need to prepare for 2 presentations about physic.I still confused about the topics for both categories.1) Electric Magnet2) Wave (sound, light, especially electromagnetic)anyone will help me out from my problem?thanks a lot! Hey Ramzi, I met this chick and was wondering if you could tell me if she would make a good wifeHere's your answer: Big Blue, there are a hundred bits of information I would need, and even then there are mysterious factors that affect the outcomeSo basically, I don't have the slightest ideaMy answer to your question is exactly the sameWithout showing exactly how the Simpson Tie is being used, there is obviously no way to know if it is suitableCan it be tempered? Sure, but again, I give it a 99% likelihood it will not help in your application Explain it in detail in 5 to 10 sentencesGive us diagrams and photosIf you can't or won't do that, here's Plan BHead over to your nearest machine shop, and ask the machinist what he thinksHe will ask the probing questions to understand the needs of the partIt is likely a Simpson Tie won't do it but he is in a good position to suggest a workable approach, and then sell it to you By the way, if this is a load-supporting member of a motorcycle or some other fast moving vehicle, be prepared to get kicked out of the machine shopThe risk of making an error is high and the outcome extremely dangerousI would not risk a million dollar lawsuit in order to sell you a $10 part.
Q:I covered a 6-inch styrofoam sphere with FIMO to make a globeThe directions say I can bake the FIMO at 275F for 20 minutes to harden the surface, but the only oven I have is the one I use for foodSo baking FIMO on top of Styrofoam doesn't sound too safeShould I just leave it unhardened?
Make one using an Apple so you can eat it later
Q:Lipo battery and Li-ion battery, which is better?
Energy balance, heat gained by the cold water and the aluminum container heat loss by the hot water Let T be the final temperature mass of cold water specific heat (T - 10C) + mass of Al specific heat (T - 10C) mass of hot water specific heat (82C - T) Substitute and solve.
Q:thank you.
An iron cookie sheet ? it is probable a griddle and will work just fine I have broiled steaks on a steel or thin pan or cookie sheet with no problems I have used aluminum foil , just wrap the meat and spices and herbs in the foil and bake , broil or toss in the hot coals in the fireplace or campfire
Q:Old Holland Oil Paints are packaged in lead tubesHow is that an advantage over aluminum tubes?
1everyone's body is differentso one person's experiences may not be your experiences 2fiber comes in a wide variety of foodsoatmeal is fiberlook up fiber on google3if you did not eat a single smackerel of fiber ever, you would probably end up with some serious blockage after a while i wouldn't recommend it 4bananas are a source of fiber Drinking ample amounts of water does help with a lack of fiber but unless you want colon cancer or hemmorrhoids, i'd recommend eating various forms of fiber.
Q:This is the idea I decided onNow how could I test it? and is What color can be seen most clearly through a fog? a better idea for someone in 7th grade?

To be honest, you almost cannot have too much insulation, I believe it is pretty well standard in Sweden now to have a one foot thickness of the woolly stuff in the loftPersonally I have added to my own loft insulation in recent years with a relatively new product: It is called Superfoil in the UK and consists of three layers of foil with fibre glass wool in betweenOddly enough it's efficiency is such that it is not particularly thick and I was able to lay it quite easily myself on top of the original materialThey do various thicknesses but to give you an idea, the product which is around 25mm thick is equivalent to around eight inches of the old fashioned yellow woolly stuffOf course this also means that I can quite quickly roll it up should I need to access any cables or pipes in the loft.
