Q: What do you do to keep your floors clean? Both for carpets and hardwood floors.
By taking off your shoes at the door, and making sure you go through the house every day with the vacum, to make sure the dirt is picked up, because that is the culprit. And for dusting find a fuzzy pair of booties to use for dusting the floor works great clean as you walk.
Q: The floor of the floor to strengthen the wear and tear, and may often be caused by towing tables and chairs, how to repair?
When I use solid wood or solid wood flooring, then the general wear and tear easier to repair, as long as the paint on the paint on the side of the floor, Yes, but if I buy laminate flooring, it is not that simple, can only be replaced. Landlord look, according to their own situation to go to consult, I can give the answer is, for the bar.
Q: Hi im trying to renovate my bathroom ,but im trying not to put that 1/4 inch cement floor to put the tile on cause its going to be biger than the living room floor is there anything else i can use that can be smaller than 1/4 inch floor board.i know theres like a thin membrain like paper or something ...please help
Our tile is on plywood, which is screwed into the sub-floor.. and I know that comes in different heights. I dont think you need cement board for the floor ...just for around the bathtub and/or shower area.
Q: Is it possible to lay the slot together fake wooden floor that you can buy in packs over carpet? Were in military housing so we can't change the carpets but would love some of that flooring in my room. Thanks
The flooring you have explained sounds like laminate flooring that looks like real wood. If you were to lay it over carpet it would come apart unless it was a burber or very flat carpet. The compression capabilities of most carpets would allow the laminate to come apart. If it was a low pile burber it might work because lamintae flooring is a floating floor. It just depends on how much the carpet will move up and down letting the laminate floor become loose were it clicks together and disconnect.
Q: is there an easy way to clean white interior latex paint off a wood floor? i'm kind of afraid to use anything "dangerous" in case I discolor the floor.
call a paint store and get some advice. i heard that white vineger will soften latex paint but am not sure what it would do to the finish on your floor. good luck.
Q: i want to replace the old carpet to laminate flooring. can anyone provide me with a step by step guide on how to do this? i have also purchased some underlayment for laminate flooring to go along with the flooring.
remove baseboard and nails if any.Cut ur carpet in manageable rolls, rip it out.Do same with foam but scrape off any glued pieces that stuck. Then remove carpet tack from perimeter. Be careful. Some laminate floors are easier than others but follow manufacturers instructions, too much variation will only cause problems later. One thing to consider is the shape of the room, alot of angles increase the difficulty. Some cuts maybe difficult and some laminates are almost like a very thin layer of glass. (very Hard) Eats up saw blades if you're not careful. But best of luck to you!
Q: Is tiles and tiles the same?
Floor tiles; is a ground decoration material, also known as floor tiles. Made of clay. Specifications variety. Quality Kennedy, pressure wear, can moisture. Some by glazing treatment, with decorative effect. Used for public buildings and civil buildings on the ground and floor. Tiles; is a refractory metal oxide and semi-metal oxide, through the grinding, mixing, pressing, glazing, sintering process, and the formation of a kind of acid and alkali porcelain or stone and other building or decoration materials, Collectively called tiles. The raw materials are mostly made of clay, quartz sand and so on. Differences; floor tiles are cement tiles (including slag bricks), tiles are cement tiles on the surface of the glaze - Tao Mu Ju building materials
Q: I pulled up my old vinyl kitchen flooring (7 years old) and found that the underlayment is in great shape except that the original vinyl was just glued about 3 inches around the entire perimeter. I scraped the old glue as best as possible and it is almost perfectly level with the rest of the floor. Does it need to be perfectly smooth where it meets the unglued edge or is a slight ridge OK to keep it from showing through the new vinyl flooring? I do have floor "sizing" that I plan to use where there are any nicks or impressions. Should I use the sizing around the edges and taper to the good flooring or am I overdoing this project? I plan to lay new vinyl flooring this wekend. I'd appreciate any good advice. PS: I also tried sanding the old glue to take off any high ridges using 80 paper. Thanks
If it's just around the outer edge it should'nt be a big issue as the edges tend to be low or even no traffic areas, so the new flooring wo'nt get damaged due to the rise & heavy foot traffic. Chances are that nobody will ever see the difference unless they knew it was there! Hope this was helpful, good luck!!
Q: Do not know how to say
Method 1: blowing with a hair dryer can be wiped after the method two: with a cloth dipped in vinegar can wipe the method three: with an eraser will not damage the floor
Q: im trying to clean the floors in my living room, but i was told not to use water or anything like that because it could damage the wood. we have laminate pergo floors in the house, what is something safe to clean it with that will still work well?
The thing to avoid is allowing water to stand on the floor for a long period of time. Water will soak into the seams of the boards and cause them to swell and delaminate. Damp mopping is fine, just don't soak the floor. Good cleaners to use are ammonia or vinegar in hot water. Home improvement stores sell special laminate cleaners but they are made of ammonia and water. No matter what two hundred people tell you, do not use Murphy's oil soap or any kind of oil, wax, or soap. They may look good at first but leave residue that will eventually make the floor very dull and filmy. Many people have trouble eliminating streaks when cleaning Pergo. The only way to get rid of all the streaks is to dry the floor after cleaning. Using very hot water also will aid in streak control.
