TC4708

TC4708tower crane is a new-style hoisting and transporting machine designed to meet the need of assembling high-level construction equipment. The product is an upper rotary self-lifting kind with horizontal jib, trolley amplitude. The length of the jib is 47m, rated maximum lifting capacity is 4t and rated maximum lifting moment is 400kN.m. The following is the main characteristics.

1. Wide applicability. The applicability is ranging from civil construction in small and medium cities, to high-rise, multi-layered civil construction in big cities. It can also be used in the construction of multi-layered industrial factories, in the slip-form construction of huge chimneys and silos and in goods loading in port or goods yard.

2. Easy to assemble and disassemble.

3. High speed, easy adjustment, stable operation and high efficiency. Low speed with heavy load and high speed with light load can be realized through lifting structure. Two kinds of speed of trolley can meet operational needs. Open stopper is equipped to slewing structure, enabling precise placement and easy assembly of crane.

4. Complete protective and reliable safety devices. The product is equipped with weight limit, moment limit, height limit, trolley limit and slewing limit to ensure normal operation. Besides rest platform, protective railings are also equipped.

Q:How are those really tall construction cranes assembled ???
I assume you are talking about a tower crane. From a distance, it looks like a T with one side shorter than the other. First, you need a good foundation for the crane to sit on. Next, you have a large mobile crane. With the mobile crane, you construct the tower (metal framing going up), the cab (where the operator sits and the motors), the boom (the mast out front) and the counter-weights (on the side opposite the boom). For the most part, this will get you a tower crane that will be about 200 feet above the ground. Most tower cranes today are self-jumping. Once you are ready to jump the tower crame (i.e. insert another section of the metal frame) there are hyraulics that lift the boom, cap and counterwieghts. This will create a gap in the metal frame. The tower crane will then pick up a section of frame and hoist it up and the ironworkers will slide it into place. The top section will be lowered down onto the new frame piece. The hydraulic jacks then get re-attached higher up to continue the jumping process. That is how you get a crane to build a 50+ soty building. By the way, once the crane is about 700 feet in the air, (if you have the stomach for it), it is a blast to ride out to the end of the boom.

They build themselves actually.... well the first part is assembled by a small crane but after that hydraulic lifts lift up the top section of the crane while the crane lifts up another mid section and places it underneath itself. cool huh?

Too many philosophical conundrums for me. The belief in an unified, and self-complete, creator is far less of a complex explanation than the 'crane' concept with all its requisite philosophical flamings hog's heads.

Preach is son! I know in my case I ask if something looks good on me or if I look good because half the time I can't tell if something looks hideous on me or not.
