Main Features of Tower Crane
1) This series of tower cranes, ranging from QTZ40 to QTZ400 has a horizontal jib frame, a jib-trolley radius-changing mechanism and a hydraulic self-raising mechanism. It is original in design, reliable in operation and satisfactory in shape. Equipped with all necessary safety devices, these cranes show a good speed-control capacity, satisfactory operating stability and high work efficiency. - Yes i have. For a college friends wedding. The groom makes at least one crane. She was from Hawaii and it's one of the Philippine traditions. There's a story that goes along with it. In Hi there are companies that will take the flat cranes and form them into another design. like a vase or something that can be framed. I think her wish was just to get them finished within 1 week before the wedding... ;) We DID! That was luck in itself. not sure if her real wish came true.

- I'm sure it depends on where you work, and what kind of crane. 20-ton bridge where I worked paid about $20k/hr, and included overtime, so that would be approaching 50k/yr

- I have not seen the movie, but I think I saw what you're talking about on a preview. I would think that the safeties involved in the control system for a crane would make it highly unlikely to happen. There is no absolute assurance, only probabilities or likelihoods. You just hope that you have enough failsafes in the system so if one part of the system fails, the others will take over, or shut the whole thing down properly.
- Q: I can't seem to find the item I'm looking for on-line. Maybe some fellow crane operator happens to know where I can find this. It's a quick releasing crane hook, it drops the load on cue. I think it would probably be remote-controlled.
- What load rating are you looking for? I am familiar with heavy lift cranes and smaller ones that do not have any sort of release device that you are looking for. Most rated crane hooks have to be qualified to carry that load and any quick release feature could fail, dropping the load. Maybe you could find such a hook for a non-industrial application, but I have never seen anything like this in use.
