- sounds like you have dual gas waterheaters, and the recirculating pump isn't doing what it shoudl be? if somehow, there is a short in the electronics of the pump, it would cause the electrical panel to trip. Still sounds like an electrician would be your first best bet, since it's not strictly a plumbing issue, but also electrical problem. Those pumps are designed to run with about 65 to 150watts power, which would NEVER cause the breaker to trip. If the breaker is weak, or there is an electrical problem that caused the breaker to weaken, an electrician will still be the better bet than even just having the pump replaced or calling in a plumber.

- You check the water pump by looking at it! Underneath the input shaft of the water-pump is a small weep-hole that leaks coolant if the bearings and seals are shot. If there's no leak in that location absolutely nothing is wrong with the water-pump regardless what you read above. Change the thermostat with a factory OEM unit. Remove the radiator cap when the motor is cold. If the radiator return valve on the bottom is brown and dirty the entire cooling system should be drained, flushed and cleaned. The heater core and radiator cross fins are probably plugged full because of years of not changing the coolant. Is the electric fan working? When the motor starts to overheat, wrap a gloved hand around the top radiator hose. If it's barely warm the thermostat is sticking closed. If it's hot the radiator and entire cooling system needs to be cleaned with Prestone Super Radiator Cleaner.

- The manual pages JerryJ is referencing are HV-24 through HV-28. Essentially, you drain the coolant, remove the front bumper cover and the left head light assembly to expose the pump. It is held by two bolts and has one connector and two hoses. After replacement the coolant is refilled and the system must be burped. Those two nipples at the front of the inverter have to be used, but I haven't had success piping them back to the reservoir as the manual describes. I gravity feed them into a clean jar on the floor and recycle the fluid manually. When it is done you should see strong flow in the reservoir as you look in the top with the ignition on but not ready. The level usually drops after driving around the block - top it up and enjoy.

So I put water in the coolant reservoir and when I drive it acts fine but then when I stop and idle the coolant tank starts too over flow and spits the water out everywhere. - Hi... There could be two problems here. First ,the thermostat is stuck open, second, a blown head gasket. Compression leaks out to the cooling system,increasing pressure ... So ,no it won't correct the situation.
