- Q:I need to fit a booster pump to increase pressure from a gravity fed vented solar water heater (uses vacuum tubes).The problem is that the temperature of the water from the solar panel can be very high - in fact it could boil under some circumstances. It's safe because the system is vented.As the quot;solarwater feeds existing water heaters in the house, diluting the hot with some cold prior to the pump with an automatic mixer valve is not really an attractive option as we want to gather as much hot water as possible.Can anyone tell me where to get a booster pump that can operate at up to 100 Deg C, delivering 2 bar pressure and about 25 liters per minute. Thanks.
- Yes you can as per the other answer . Make sure when you do you dont exceed the Gallons per minute of the cellar pump or you will burn up the pump on your house . Also make sure that the pump in your moms house can only pump up to 50 psi . Most well pumps can pump higher but that is the setting on the presure switch You might be able to change the tank and switch in moms cellar to a bigger presure tank and up the presure on the presure switch and cure the problem that way and not work the well pump so hard by turning off and on so often .
- Q:i have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee, started overheating last week, i flushed out the radiator with water, i replaced the thermostat, overheated again, i felt the top radiator hose it was cold. so i replaced the water pump. still overheated. every time i drain the system when i refill it i had red to fill the radiator and reservoir, leave the radiator cap off, then start the engine and turn the heat on max, the radiator burps the air bubble out, then the coolant level in the radiator starts going up and down, my thermostat is rated at 195, when the guage hits 210 hot coolant sprays out of the radiator, but the top radiator hose is cold, what am i doing wrong? is there air still trapped in that top radiator hose?
- id say its the radiator after all what ya replaced. have it checked out at a shop. before ya do though ya might do a complete flush of the motor and the cooling system. might be a blockage in a water jacket in the motor. ya can buy the flush kit at any parts store, its simply a T that ya splice into on of the heater core hoses,hook up a water hose,turn heater on, and wait with the engine running. if theres any blockage it will spit and sputter till its pushed out with the water pressure. let it idle till clear water comes out then drain and add coolant. try this first with water only and if it doesnt solve your problem id say ya need a radiator.
- Q:The meter on my dash was reading low even after driving for 20 minutes on a sunny day. Then all of a sudden it jumped over the 270 mark. I have a relatively new thermostat could my water pump have gone bad? I did not see any leaking coolant or anything under the vehicle.
- Generally, a water pump won't stop pumping unless the belt is off. The usual water pump problem, that requires replacement, is when the shaft seal starts leaking coolant. A thermostat, on the other hand, can work normally, or maybe stick open (makes getting heat in the winter very slow) or maybe stick closed (overheat within a few minutes of starting the engine, and blowing coolant out of the tank). The coolant level (in the engine/radiator) could be low. Don't look when the engine is hot.
- Q:This is what it is doing- the actual pump that is in its own little shed CLICKS all of the time water is being ran, even a small amount of water. The water pressure goes to a slow trickle and eventually stops completely. After about 20-30 minutes I go back and check the spickets and the water is fine, but quickly repeats this same cycle. I would like to go on trips to visit family out of town which is around 300 miles and be able to drive the car with out having over heating problems.
- The high flow just moves more water per revolution the a factory pump. Heavy duty could be the same as the hi-flow, while the electric pump does not use the fan belt to turn the pump, it's got a small electric motor to do that. See if there's any difference between hi-flow heavy duty, get one of those.

- it could be your water temp sensor hitting an air pocket. but it may be more. if your thermostat is shot, the water in the engine will heat up very hot, but wont flow to the radiator. so the temp the the radiator will still be low. i would say you should get a new thermostat and go from there

- Q:I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 v6 engine. My car has been overheating lately and my low coolant light came on so i put antifreeze in it and the light went off. I drove about 3 blocks and the low coolant light came back on again and the thermostat was at the hot mark so i checked the antifreeze and it was just about empty. I did noticed when I was pouring the antifreeze that some did run out the bottom of the car but it wasn't alot. Also I noticed that in the morning when I get up and drive my car the thermostat could be at cold but if I drive about 3 blocks it's almost at the hot mark. Please help me determine whats wrong with my car. Is my water pump bad?
- You definitely have a big coolant leak someplace. Could be anything related to the cooling system. Do not drive this car or you will destroy your engine for could possibly be fixed with a few dollars, if it is a bad hose or something of the sort. Sounds like you should be able to find the leak without a pressur test, seeing how it runs low so quickly, but in any event, do not drive this vehicle and have a technician as soon as possible.
