- Q: i got 02 mazda protege . iz it possible to b able to put dual exhaust system on it ?
- P.U.M.A., It is possible to put a dual exhaust system on just about any vehicle, but some are easier than others, and thus subject to additional costs. Did the 2002 Mazda Protege come in a package (often a sports-based on) that had a dual exhaust system from the factory? If so, this is a good indicator that installing a dual exhaust system will be much simpler. If it did not, some modifications (welding brackets, cutting material from the bumper, etc.) may have to be made in order to make it fit properly. Your best bet would be to contact your auto exhaust/performance store of your choice to see how much such an alteration would cost if it had to be done.

- Simply, NO Tanabe racing exhausts are not the low tone you are looking for. The tanabe medallion is very loud and will set off car alarms all around you. If you don't belive me I will send you my written violations for loud exhaust and disturbing the peace. I do not recommend them unless you want to be heard by everyone.
- Q: I was thinking about getting MAC catback exhaust system with MAC o/r H-pipe. I was watching videos of the exhaust system on youtube and they all sound loud, deep, bassy, and gurgly which i'm looking for. I looked up on Ebay and the exhaust systems are cheap! For the system is like 300 and for the o/r MAC h-pipe its about 160.So would you say that the MAC catback sounds good or you dont like it? I think it sounds better than flowmasters.
- I have a Mac catback and O/R X pipe on my 04 GT.I like the sound or tone I get from this exhaust. Its a deep rumble,not to raspy idle.Several of my gearhead friends have complimented me on the tone of my exhaust.I went w/ the Mac because everyone who has a Mustang runs the Flows,I wanted something different.The Mac is less expensive than the Flows and they are a quality exhaust system.I paid around $300.00 for mine,when I installed it I was very pleased w/ the fit of the mufflers and bends of the pipes.It fit up very nicely under my GT,no rattles,no leaks,no nothing.Took about 2 hours to install the catback.Check out the X pipe,you'll get a much different sound over the H,you might like it better.Go w/ the Mac,I am very pleased w/ my exhaust,I'm sure you will too.Hope this helped.

- I think its merely the tone of the exhaust note. One might be higher pitched and the other might be really deep sounding. I had a jeep with a flowmaster exhaust that sounded super deep and rumbly while another exhaust for the same jeep had a higher pitch to it and it was louder.

- Q: I own a 2001 T/A ws6 im thinking of getting the magnaflows 16723. They‘re great looking give plenty of hp and torque. But I wana know what are the stats for the other exhaust and how they sound loud and annoying or loud and deep? Does anyone know?
- Magnaflow or Flowmaster will be your best bet. There are a bunch of other ones out there, but they sound extremely raspy and way too loud. Its nice to hear the growl of a LS1, but not when your exhaust is obnoxiously loud. As far as power increases, the exhaust really doesnt open it up that much. On my 00 Z28, I had MAC mid-length headers, off-road Y pipe, no cats, O2 simulators, and a flowmaster catback. It dropped a measley tenth of a second off the 1/4 mile time and I gained about 1 1/2 mph. As far as the sound goes though, the magnaflow sounds great, and I think you'll like it.

- The perfect option is to listen to the same car as yours equipped with the same exhaust that you are interested in. The next best option is to listen to the same exhaust in a car somewhat similar to yours in engine configuration (4 inline, 6 inline, v6, etc.). Same exhaust in a smaller or bigger engine naturally would sound somewhat differently due to the different exhaust pressure and volume. Of course, the basic design says a lot about how it would sound. A loud free flow design would sound just like it was intended to be to a smaller or larger degree. The harmonics would be generally the same.

- Dual 3.0 exhausts will handle several hundred cubic inches of motor; I have dual 3 on my 427 Mustang. Sounds very big, but, also, can't see any problem. If the $$$$ is the same, or there's a good used one available, it won't hurt anything to go too big.
- Q: You can hear them coming from a mile away. I‘m sure the traffic cops can hear this assault to the ears as well. Why aren‘t these violations being enforced ? Maybe a cop can give us some information on this.
- In some states, like Nevada, there is no sound level limit on motorcycles. So you got some very loud motorcycles. Most of the cycle riders claim that the loud exhaust makes it safer for them as car drivers can hear them coming. As far as cars, most states do have a sound level limit but the cops do not enforce it. They drive around with their windows closed and their police radios on and do not even hear it. And who can hear loud exhaust when they got their BOOM BOOM stereos on and all their windows open?
