- Have used Kenmore for years, also based on C/R ratings. Mine is a cannister; works well on dog fur. As I recall, Miele's biggest problem was initial cost, so if it's working ok, stick with it, but if you NEED to replace it, go with Kenmore. (My sister-in-law, whose kids have asthma, also swears by Kenmore.)

- I would Not use the bagless vacuum, I'm thinking the particles from the spray my get lodged in the intricate parts of your vacuum and do something to it. If the particles are trapped in a bag no damage is done. I'm just guessing.Good luck.

- I own two of them.one for upstairs one for downstairs.They are very good machines.if something breaks,which is rare,it is easily fixed with replacement parts.Now the reason I own two is because they are so darn heavy.(Metal Parts).I used to but a new Hoover every year or two.I have owned Electrolux and Also Phantom.The negative aspects of Kirby are;They are not Bagless ,the hose has to be attached when you need it by taking the machine apart,They are pretty heavy. But I believe they will last forever.The attachments are endless you can order all kinds of things that can be attached to your Kirby.( I have a set of Kirby hair clippers that I use to cut my Boys hair and they are awesome the hair sucks right into the hose)The only other Vacuum I would be interested in Owning is the Dyson.Primarily because I do miss on board attachments ,Not having to buy bags,and a lighter weight machine.But I have had both of my Kirbys for sometime and I just cant seem to break one.
- Q: I found Philips do a bagless 375 air watt suction vacuum cleaner, does anyone know of any other brands which do a higher air watt suction bagless vacuum cleaner?not intersted in bagged vacuum cleaners, there a waste of money. Thanksand not dyson, they max out at a misely 250 or so air watt suction.

- Q: We have a mischievious dog in the house that keeps chewing and destroying things. The power cord he severed belonged to a Kenmore Progressive Direct Drive vacuum cleaner and it will take about $25 to replace, rather than buying a whole new vacuum cleaner. I was wondering if anyone thought it was a dumb idea to attempt to remove the back part and replace this cord or if it could be done at all? - Q: It's not but two years old. Took it to a house with really old electrical outlets/wiring system, plugged it in and it ran. Turned it off, tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't turn on again. No electric box switches were tripped/turned off. Also tried it in outlets in all three rooms but it still didn't turn on. Fo vacuum cleaners have fuses the protect the motor? Any thoughts as to what's going on and/or what I can do (besides buy a new one)? Any advice appreciated.
