- My favorite is my trusty Shop Vac! I bought the smaller one. We have only one, low-traffic room with rug, so I don't miss the beater bar. It sucks up anything, and you don't have to buy bags unless you are vacuuming fine dust. The whole thing, canister, filters, and hose can be washed. I use it for our vehicles and the whole house. And when there's a water spill somewhere, just empty the canister and suck up the water. Costs around $60.
- Q: I am in a market for a new vacuum cleaner. I have selected two models and there are two main differences between them: price and HEPA filtration. One with sealed HEPA costs $200 more than the one using HEPA 12 filtration. We have two dogs and no one in our family suffers from allergies. Would sealed HEPA filtration justify spending $200 more on a vacuum?Thanks.
- Well the sealed would keep in more allergens and dust. The non sealed would would suck in allergens but spit them back into the air or at least most of them. I would recommend checking with people you know that you would consider inviting into your house and ask them if they are allergic to dust or allergens. Now i would recommend the shark navigator to you because it costs just under 200 dollars and has anti allergen technology to lock in dust and never loses suction. Now what they say on the commercials are true our family owns one and it is true. i have seen an improvement in my allergies. it also has free shipping and handling.so i would hope this helps.bye

- It's amazing how often people are experiencing the exact same problems right at the same time. I was just pondering the same thing, living in a tiny apartment I don't have much room but found a little storeaway in the kitchen.. so ugly having it sitting in my bedroom..
- Q: The vacuum has a really loud noise to it. At one point I seen grease/oil on the floor while it was running. The noise sounds like it needs grease or something. I'm thinking the bearings, but that's just a guess. Please can someone help or advise of a website where I can find the quot;how to fixquot;. Dyson support was useless. They just said to send the vacuum in or bring to a repair center at my cost. My options aren't big, I live in a very small town that doesn't have many or if any repair centers. I am concerned that you have indicated your machine was leaking some kind of oil or grease and neither of these fluids are used in the manufacture of the DC14 or indeed any of our vacuum cleaners. If your DC14 is making a loud noise and is not running correctly, we would strongly advise you take it to a local repair centre or call the Dyson Helpline for assistance. If you are not able to take it to a repair centre, we can arrange for it to be collected and taken to one. - Q: I heard Dysons are very nice, but they are very expensive. I could save up for one but it is all its cracked up to be? - The answer to the question can change every month. Go to a vacuum repair shop that also sells new and ask them their recommendation, I did when I bought my Sharp 8 years ago and still love it.
- Q: I am unfamiliar with vacuum cleaner brands or even if vacuum cleaners work on concrete flooring. Basically I am looking for something that will get all the dust and dirt up without having to mop every other week.
