Characteristics and applications of Resin P296
Styrene and methyl methacrylate unsaturated polyester resin, suitable for hand lay-up, exhibiting very good fire behaviour.The self-extinguishing LERPOL RS10 FRN resin has been specially designed for applications in the naval sector; laminates produced with this resin have passed the test aiming to determine the limited flame propagation, according to IMO Res. MSC 61(67) Annex 1 Part 5, and the combustion fumes specific optical density test, according to IMO Res. MSC 61(67) Annex 1 Part 2.The characteristics of LERPOL RS10 FRN resin, make it suitable for the manufacture of products which must exhibit good mechanical properties and very good fire behaviour. As a reinforcement, we recommend the use of high filament diameter CS MAT (like MAT M123 OCV Reinforcements) and, for the expulsion of air from the laminate, we suggest the use of bubble-breaking rollers, type SPIRAL BRISTLE, produced by KANSAI MUSASHI. For the resin polimerization the addition of MEK-Peroxide in the amount of not over 1% is recommended; we also suggest the use of an amino primer (DEAA) in the amount of 0.1 ÷0.5 %according to the desired pot-life.

Storage of Resin P296
If the productis stored in the dark in its original container, perfectly sealed and at a maximum temperature of 20˚C, it is stable for at least 3 months from the date of production. Longer periods of storage, or in conditions other than those defined above, may alter the product'scharacteristics and compromise its use.

- Well you can.But if this is for water.A drain or supply pipe then you should use PVC with or without the copper.Galvanized pipes corrode from the inside out when used for water.And PVC is cheaper. You can buy fittings to solder on the copper that will hook up to PVC or simply connect them with a rubber boot.

- To collect resin for the purpose of smoking it you've got to scrape the piece. Bad stuff could happen if you're smoking resin that was saturated with alcohol.
- Q: Ok, so my grandfather owns a resturant. The guy who was managing the resturant retired a few weeks ago, so I volunteered to fill in until my grandfather could find someone else. The problem is that there are 12 employees that do not have work visas. The former manager had been hiring illegal immergrants and paying them next to nothing. - yeah you can save it i have a little tin i keep resin in sometimes you dont have to do anything special with it its actually better if it dries up cause itll be easier to smoke the best way to scrap resin out depends on what you're actually scraping (how big the holes are, etc). Usually a coat hanger, a paper clip, or a safety pin will do the job, but you have to be carful if its a glass pipe cause it could break. Get a paper plate and knock the pipe against your hand as you're scraping so the resin will fall out onto the plate. If the resin is gooey, cause it sometimes is you can rub it on the plate w/ whatever scraping device you're using. After you are done and you go to smoke the resin if the end product is too powdery and you cant put it right into your pipe you could always put a cigarette ash into your pipe first (if you smoke), and then put the resin over it, that way it wont get sucked through the hole.

- If you just want to stiffen the tea-stained linen strips and add a bit more brownish or other tone, you could just tint permanent white glue (Elmers GlueAll, e.g.) with brown or orange acrylic paint, then apply that thickly (should dry translucent at least, and also stiffen the linen wrapping). Or you could use any other clear finish or varnish you happen to have around (polyurethane, clear fingernail polish, Mop 'N Glo or other acrylic floor polishes, etc.) and tint them to apply for probably a more transparent color.
