Q: if a diesel generator(say of negligible mass) is used to power an electric car powered by an electirc motor how efficient will it be when compared to a car that uses an i.c engine thats uses diesel directly?
Most Efficient Diesel Generator
Q: i got 390 TONS OF REFRIGERATION OF PU,TOTAL 16 NO,HOW MUCH KW OR KVA REQUIRED DISEL GENERATOR TO RUN THIS ,PACKAGED UNIT, TOTAL LOAD IS 390 TR, PLS CONVERT N TELL ME,N TAKING FACTOR OF SAFETY ALSO TELL ME THE KVA OF GENERATOR
Well, after you STOP YELLING AT US, you might suggest the efficiency of the pieces (as well as telling what TOTAL 16 NO really means) then a conversion of power stuff might be done.
Q: I have an old generator that the motor doesn't run. I want to salvage the generator head and make something like a wind, steam, or bio diesel generator I haven't made my mind up yet. But for now I need to dismantle the head from the motor. I think it has some kind of a ratio box on it too I'm not sure I've never done this before. I sure would appreciate any help!

Q: I really need to know to know this.@ two days old. my baby was subjected to a high level of diesel fumes coming in from the hospital vents. Due to testing of generators and backed up through vent. she was in the room roughly 30 minutes what kinda damage should I be concerned about. should I be concerned? how long would it stay in lungs and the blood? please if you know.thanks
After exposure to diesel gas fumes, if not, taken for treatment of oxygen inhalation in an incubator,0r oxygen tent -----the effect will be fatal ---byway of mucus collection and respiratory interference of gaseous exchange leading to fatality because of brain damage, for a continued exposure for more than 30minutes ---please read ---diesel-byproduct-result-in-brain damege
Q: Diesel trains use electric motors because the low-end torque is much greater than a mechanical drive drive train, I was wondering, since low-end torque is essential to starting with heavy dead weight, why more trucks and SUVs don't have electric motors on the wheels?
There are a lot of hybrid vehicles out there. The diesel locomotive is a hybrid the internal combustion engine/s turn generators which in turn power the wheels. Other heavy equipment such as used at strip mining sites also uses the same technology. But in general it is cheaper, and more reliable to have as few of moving parts as possible. A hybrid vehicle has more systems to fail then one with gear drive. Also in the case of locomotives that additional weight required for such systems is a benefit, while in a over the road vehicle is it a liability.
Q: I recently seperated the generator from the engine and replaced the rear main oil seal on the engine the electric generator was only moved back about 16-18 inches to access rear main seal. job went well with no problems after completeing job I turned down rpms to about 1000 rpm It was put back in service They use it to power up refer containers from the harbor. the next day I check it and they had turned up rpms to ??? as fast as it would run and 12 refer units running off it oh it's 480 volt well it ran for a week non stop and broke down and of corse it was my fault all i did was unbolt drive plate on front of rotor from flywheel of engine .est to repair is 6,000 could this be my fault after it ran for a week or caused from hi rpms and heat related possibley
Sorry man, your idea has been taken already they are called uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). They can seamlessly keep your computer and other similar electronics online with a battery backup until power is restored. For longer outages, most folks use an outdoor AC generator to power critical components (fridge, freezer, heating, maybe computer/modem). Also, your DC power outlets idea would not work logistically. Your modem and computer do indeed have power supply cords that convert 120 VAC into some DC voltage. So, in order to use your special DC outlets during an emergency, you would have to unplug the devices from the normal outlets, attach a special DC-DC cord, and then plug the device into the emergency DC outlets. So, this would be quite the headache and would also mean downtime while you switch over; by comparison a UPS would have no downtime. Also you have to figure in the additional complexity of installing emergency DC outlets in a home (more confusion for electricians and homeowners). Finally, a gas-powered generator in the basement isn't the best idea since internal combustion engines give off carbon monoxide. People have died from using products such as gas-powered pressure washers in enclosed areas. In fact, a fairly common way to commit suicide is to leave your car engine idle in an enclosed garage. So I propose sticking with the status quo here. AC outlets for all, and UPS devices for those that need emergency backup power for their computers (in your case to keep your phone service as well). edit: Oops, you did mention that you know that battery backups exist already. Still, the points that I and others have made still stand.
Q: here's the thing.Imagine that I have a generator that uses diesel as the fuel. then consider following two cases.Case 1 - using one 1kW bulb for one hourCase 2 - using ten 100W bulbs for one hourI know both cases consume a same amount of power that is 1kWH.but I THINK the demand (which is measured in kVA or just kW) is higher in the second case. (is it??)so my question is that, does the generator burn a same amount of fuel at both the cases regardless of higher demand in second case?? and I'd much obliged if you can say how??
As such more power demands more fuel to be burnt , but in case of Power generator ( DG set ) , in both cases peak demand in both cases you cited of 1kw would continue to generate same units of power of 1 kwhr on peak ( more power demand ) so it would draw same amount of fuel to be burnt.
Q: I want to build a little shack in the bush where i can hang out with friends. Nothing special no plumbing maybe diesel generator very small and possibly a wood stove. What supplies should i use for walls, floor, ceiling and roof. will be built on private land hidden in back roads. This would just be a place to hang out on weekends and not really a place to live. What else should be included and what is important stuff to know
build shack
Q: China Diesel older generator. Hasn't been used for years, however, supposedly started biannually. Someone messed with the wiring. rewired much of the controls and all meters appear to be working. Have 240V no load, when applying a load to one leg, the 120V drops to 0V. Suspect the exciter not working. located the the 4 Stator cables and 2 smaller wires coming from generator. Suspect the 2 smaller are the excitation wires. According to the poorly edited Chinese to English manual. I have no idea which is F+ or F- and how important will it be to get this correct when applying the 12V as suggested in the trouble shooting guide??
Oh my gosh, it is hilarious. I wasn't considering what the first became wondering, yet i observed after a at a similar time as that . yeah. XD super comic tale; i would desire to inform this to someone! xD
Q: Diesel generator selection criteria?
Diesel generators are widely used in telecommunications, finance, emergency power supply departments, hospitals, schools, commercial departments
