- Q: I have a carrier thermostat with red, green, yellow, white and blue wires. Bought a new honeywell, omly has red, green, yellow and white terminals. What do I do with the blue wire. Right now it is connected to rc with no jumper, but nothing works.
- This is an educated guess, even though we don't know how the furnace is wired. In many cases, the blue wire is used for C (common). Tape off or snip off the end of the blue wire and don't use it. Put the red wire on the RC terminal. Jump RC to R or RH if you have heat. Connect the other wires to their corresponding terminals. If blue is common, there's a good chance you blew the fuse on the control board (if your air handler has one) and/or you fried the transformer. That is, if you tried turning on the A/C.
- Q: So I need to tap a few wires, and cut 1 wire and join it with another wire..What would be the best way to approach this? Here are the full instructions so you guys have an idea on what I'm trying to do.quot; On the TAN plug there is 1 ALL PINK(E7) wire you need attach the WHITE wire from your relay to that but don't cut the PINK wire just tap the WHITE into it.Next go the the GREY BCM plug there are 3 WHITE wires.
- The instructions seem pretty straight-forward. T-Taps and squeeze-connectors are basically the same thing; achieving the same results, which is to add a connection to an existing wire without interrupting the line. Just make sure you use the right size and type, meaning; don't use a low-voltage connector for a high-voltage application... You'd just fry it up. For the cut wires, I'd use crimp-connectors and some shrink-wrap. Again, using the correct connector. You can use wire-nuts, but the crimp-connectors are a more permanent fix. Good luck to ya.
- Q: When they stole my stereo they ripped everything off now i just have wires i tried looking up wiring harness and nothing.. Im kinda frustrated lol i have 3 blue wires 3 dark greens orange black tan yellow.brown etc.. Can u guys tell me.plz what they are i dont want to keep burning fuses lol

- Q: Hi,I have an issue with wiring in house. This is in Paris, France. I will share a foto so you can have a clearer picture what my question is.
- Got a meter? On the output side Wht/Grn = ground Brown = 'Hot' (230 V.) Blue = Neutral Test out what you've got in the French outlet box.
- Q: Is it okay to solder wrapping wire to a mother board, I am just asking because the wires are called WRAPPING.
- Soldering is fine. As with any wire, be sure to tin the wire first (give it its own thin coat of solder before attempting to solder it to anything else) and secure the wire mechanically so that the solder joint isn't subjected to vibration or other stress. A blob of glue will do the job.
- Q: I notice my 10/100 Ethernet wire uses 4 wires (2 twisted pairs). I'm curious what each wire is used for. I understand one pair is for Tx (transmit) and the other for Rx (receive) but why does it need 2 wires for each? I assume bits of data cross on one, but what of the other?

- Q: I am connecting a humidstat to furnace. I would normally use furnace/thermostat wire for this purpose except that I need 8 conductors and the largest furnace/thermostat wire seems to be 5 conductors. I would like to use another 18guage 8 conductor wire but not sure if there are any specifications I need to ensure it meets before I can use it inside furnace cabinet.
- bill this project seems to be taking you forever, may i ask why do you need 8 conductor?
- Q: I've been asking questions to my mom about what is inside the new receiver and then suddenly i asked my mom, what is inside a wire? She didn't know what was inside a wire so i asked if i can post my question on yahoo answers, and then she said yes so i did it.
- An electrical wire is composed of a copper (sometimes steel, aluminum, or other metal) core, surrounded by a plastic cover to insulate it. The newer fiber optics wires for communications contain a translucent plastic core for transmitting light signals.
- Q: The wire on my headphones were cut clean off in the middle of the wire. Is there any way it can be fixed? I tried to find out other ways but it seems one of the only ways is to strip the wire of its covering. Is there a way to fix it without burning the wires?
- Strip an inch of the wires using a knife - don't burn anything, plastic gives off toxic fumes. Edit: use a very sharp knife or a stanley knife, slice towards the end of the wire, repeat until the end of the wire is stripped. Take 1 each of the wires that were cut, twirl them round each other like ivy twists around a branch, tape up the wire, repeat with the other two wires, then tape around them all. If the connection between the cut wires is good then the headphones should work like nothing happened.
- Q: Hello my question are:Examples given for wired and wireless communications systems?Compare and contrasted how wired and wireless communications systems function? Assessed the risks associated with wired and wireless communcations systems?(if you can put in simple details that would be helpful, because I understand parts of it but not all)Thank you
- wired is connected by ethernet cables and is harder to hack into, while wireless is over the air and easier to hack, so the main difference is security and encryption. Wireless users have to share the bandwidth, wire have set bandwidth. BUT (big but) wireless is portable while wired is not. Now all this is computer communications.
