- i have that problem before. it is caused by bacteria that has formed a biofilm on the pipes. what i did to get rid of the smell is to pour half a gallon of vinegar in there and add some baking soda. leave it overnight and then wash it away.

- 1 -Remove the nut and look up INTO the top of the nut and you will see the plastic washer. 2- Make sure the curve edge is pointing downward, if not pry it out and turn it around 3 - re-tighten the nut, but start it very careful since you can cross thread. 4- once you hand tighten, apply more pressure to make sure the nut has 'bottomed out with the gasket into the pipe. By having the curve part of the washer correct placed, it will seal the joing.
