Q:a few days ago i was racking up weights on the leg press machine but my gym teacher stopped me and told me that the leg press is bad for the joints and introduced me to the dead liftso im wondering:is the leg press really bad for the joints? (i was gonna leg press 3x my body weight,360 i weigh 120 lb, im dead serious! i cant gain weight for some reason :(,ps im not trying to brag))will the deadlift make a good substitution(for the leg press)?thanks!!
Lol, that's weird, why would your school have that equipment if you can't use it. We have a leg press at our school and I use it all the time. I suppose it might have minor joint damage, but everything damages the joints! Going up stairs is bad for them, walking and running is bad for them. We can't avoid everything, that's why God gave us joints. Lol, were supposed to use them. : )
Q:Me and my friend have saved up close to $200 to put towards a heat press machine, but we have several questions. We can't buy an expensive one, we are only 12 and 13. We only need a small one because we are only buying it to heat press socks, mostly Nike Elites. First, i need some recommendations for a machine under $200 that would heat press socks.
Print the care instructions for the material you are using and provide it to the customer with their garment. – Jessica R., Customer Service Metal zippers can withstand a heat press, but plastic ones cannot. Be careful to place plastic zippers, snaps, and buttons off the heat press machine, as they will melt under the heat and pressure of your press. – Peggy D., Customer Service Use a rubber mat under your feet if have your heat press in a carpeted area. The heat press generates static electricity - a rubber mat will help reduce shocks. – Peggy D., Customer Service To save time, keep a 16x20 Heat Printing Pillow placed on the lower platen rather than inserting it into a shirt. Place the shirt directly on top of the pillow and pull under the arms a bit to straighten it on the platen. – Juliet K., Customer Service Own a cap press? Don't just use it to print hats. A cap press is perfect for printing on a variety of small areas such as polo shirt pockets, shorts, small infant shirts and onesies, small dog apparel, etc. – Peggy D., Customer Service
Q:what is a soldier allowed to do or say when they are approach by the press and how do they refer to?
I am assuming that every military base is like Australia and any information given to the Press is done By a Public Relations Officer or equivalent I refused to talk to them after all the Rubbish printed about the Military In England related to Ban the Bomb Marches and how they were treated Fact Military On inside Fence Police and Protesters on outside and those on inside NEVER NEVER got in contact with Protesters the Americans Used Fire Hoses on anyone climbing on fence and were arrested for trespassing
Q:My current favorite pressed powder is Loreal True Match, but I'm kind of wanting to try a new one. I'd rather it be from the drugstore, but if there's a really good high end one tell me about it.(: I'd also like it to have a decent amount of coverage.
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Dream Matte is a very popular powder. It has light coverage but keeps your face matte all day. Because of its light coverage, most people only use it as a setting powder. Mineral Power has more of a light-to-medium coverage, which is pretty good for drugstore. Most, if not all drugstore powders have light or sheer coverage. This is a good powder for either a foundation or as a setting powder.
Q:I see people (even some muscular people) in the gym bench pressing just the bar with no weights on the sides. Isn't that just 10 pounds? What is that good for and why do it?
The standard bench press bar weighs 45 lbs. Why would someone bench press just the bar with no weight? 1. Different people have different levels of strength. A woman who has never exercised before may have to build up to adding weight to the bar. 2. Warm-up. Even if someone is strong enough to bench press a lot of weight, they may use just the bar for a warm-up set before they lift. Warming up before you lift can help prevent injury. 3. Endurance. Someone may bench press just the bar as quickly as possible for as many reps as possible to build speed, or slowly for as many reps as possible to build endurance.
Q:I would like to press a purple carnation I got 3-4 days ago. I would prefer to press it onto just a piece of normal printer paper. What would be the best way to press my carnation (w/out getting any books dirty!)? I've never pressed a flower before, so I need all the details - should I cut off them stem, should I press the flower on its side or on its center, etc. Thank you (and yes, I will be marking someone as having the best answer - 10 points baby!) And yeah, I know this is a weird question :P
I have pressed flowers in the past with good results. Copy paper will do. You can either trim some of the stem or leave as is (as long as it's manageable). Place it on its side between two sheets of copy paper and place something heavy on top. I would suggest to use something like a manila folder on top the copy paper---then put a book on top or something else that's heavy. Leave it undisturbed for awhile. I am not sure at least a month---maybe more. I still have pressed flowers that I have had for 10+ years. Good luck!
Q:If you bench press, is it the same as doing push ups?
with bench presses you have more control over the weight you lift
Q:Please, no suggestions about perms because I absolutely refuse to get another perm...Only interesed in pressed hair solutions...I have been natural for slightly over 2 years. I have been going to a salon to get my hair pressed, but I am wondering if every two weeks (twice a month) is too often. She does the new school pressing where she blow dries it straight and then straightens the hair with a ceramic flat iron--she does not actually use the hot comb. I am very satisfied with how it looks and feels, but I'd like to know if once every two weeks is too often for hair to be pressed/ flat-ironed.
If you keep your hair moisturized this is not too much pressing. I flat iron my hair every week and my hair is noticebly healthy. Also, keep your ends trimmed regularly. If you do notice breakage, switch to a hairstyle that doesn't require a lot of combing (i.e. wraps, braids, roller sets etc.) Hope it helps!
Q:I'm trying to read something and it says to press n to continue, but I only know how to press m being the first letter on the button.. how do I access the letter n alone to get access to continue reading?? Thanks
Press on the button 'M twice in quick sucession. That means once u press the letter m, press the letter m again quickly, it will skip to the next letter.. n James C
Q:I have an oven, grill, toaster, pan microwave but no sandwich/toastie press or george forman grill. How do I make a panini??
Use a smaller frying pan as a press in a larger one. Then grill it in a greased pan. Almost as if you were nesting the pans together. It works best if the small frying pan is hot as well, as you can do it in one quick process, without having to flip anything. You do have to deal with a hot pan though, so oven mitt time. Cast iron pans of course. I use the lid of my dutch oven in a big skillet.
