Q:a few days ago i was racking up weights on the leg press machine but my gym teacher stopped me and told me that the leg press is bad for the joints and introduced me to the dead liftso im wondering:is the leg press really bad for the joints? (i was gonna leg press 3x my body weight,360 i weigh 120 lb, im dead serious! i cant gain weight for some reason :(,ps im not trying to brag))will the deadlift make a good substitution(for the leg press)?thanks!!
i assume you are talking about doing squats. It is a great exercise for the legs, but it can be hard on the lower back. The dead lift is used by powerlifters as it is said to stimulate muscle fibers in every part of the body including the legs. But use proper form because this lift is also hard on the lower back. A leg press machine minimizes back injury issues, but your coach is right. Heavy lifting is hard on the joints. As for weight gaining, that is a seperate issue.
Q:1) can u list everyone an everything besides newspapers that are guaranteed freedom o the press?2) how can the average citizen ensure his or her freedom o the press?3) what responsibility does an editor of a newspaper have?4) who if anyone should censor what you read?
1. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech are pretty closely tied together. Press has been defined by the Supreme Court as any publication that affords a vehicle for information and opinion. Magazines, books, pamphlets, web sites, blogs, TV, anything that is intended to be read or viewed by others. If it doesn't fall under that definition, then it likely falls under free speech. So signs, letters, art work, speeches, things not designed to be viewed as information or opinion. The guarantee is that the GOVERNMENT can't try to control the press. Plenty of other organizations can. Schools, TV networks, libraries, corporations do it all the time. But that's allowed. 2. Make sure that it isn't abused, thus tempting restrictions. 3. An editor has a responsibility to make sure that a story is true in its details, not libelous, doesn't incite riots, isn't on a malicious vendetta against people, and doesn't deliberately expose the subject to danger. 4. Me. I should be the only censor of what I read or watch. But then I'm an adult with a pretty good sense of skepticism.
Q:I'm looking to purchase a coffee pot for my upcoming apartment. As an avid coffee drinker and a bargain shopper, I'm looking into everything. I had a friend recommend a french press as well as some other brand name appliances. What are the differences and similarities to having a french press? What other things do I need to purchase along with a press and how does the coffee compare to ordinary pot making coffee?? Thanks!
some people say that coffee from a french press is much more flavorful, and I agree with them. The way it works is that the coffee grounds steep in hot water longer and you get much more flavor from the coffee grounds. A regular coffee maker works with dripping hot water through the coffee grounds. A lot of people like this method also. It's also very convenient for making a lot of coffee. The cons on making coffee with a french press is that you need coarse ground coffee. All preground stuff is made for regular coffee makers. Also, it's a hassle to clean a french press. Also, you can't make large quantities of coffee with a french press, unlike a coffee maker. If I were you, I would find a french press at a thrift store since they always have used ones for cheap there. Try it out and decide. edit: youtube has great vids on how to use a French press.
Q:I need to teach my players what to do when a team is full court pressing us. Also, do u no a site that will telll us how to break a full court zone press? Is there a big difference between full court press and a full court zone press?
There can be a big difference in a m2m full court press and a zone full court press. It depends on how the zone press is going to work. There are many versions of a zone press. Now as far as giving you websites... I could give you all sorts of websites, but it will not help you instruct your players unless you have an understanding on how to break a press in general. If I were you, I would be an assistant to start out with and let someone who knows the game coach the players. I have coached basketball for 15+ years and have seen alot of coaches who think they know what they are doing and wind up getting beat by 20+ points every time they put their team on the court.
Q:when i press my leg the mark of my finger stays and does not go away. What can this be? I am anemic and I want to know if the two are related. Thanks
This could be a sign that your body is retaining to much water....Edema is swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body's tissues. Although edema can affect any part of your body, it's most commonly noticed in your hands, arms, feet, ankles and legs. Symptoms Click to enlarge Swelling of the foot, ankle and leg can be severe enough to leave an indentation, or pit, when you press on the area. This swelling (edema) is the result of excessive fluid in your tissues — often caused by congestive heart failure or blockage in a leg vein. Edema in ankleSigns and symptoms of edema include: Swelling or puffiness of the tissue under your skin (subcutaneous tissue) Stretched or shiny skin Skin that retains a dimple after being pressed for several seconds Increased abdominal size When to see a doctor Make an appointment to see your doctor if you have any of the signs or symptoms of edema, such as swelling, stretched or shiny skin, or skin that retains a dimple after being pressed. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs or symptoms of edema in your lungs (pulmonary edema), including: Shortness of breath Difficulty breathing Chest pain
Q:I pressed charges on someone because they pulled a gun on me for no reason and then they turned around and tried to press charges on me for Verbal Assault in the 3rd degree...I was just wondering how that was possible or if it is?
Dude thats ****** up... Were you verbally assaulting them while they had the gun on you?!
Q:Please, no suggestions about perms because I absolutely refuse to get another perm...Only interesed in pressed hair solutions...I have been natural for slightly over 2 years. I have been going to a salon to get my hair pressed, but I am wondering if every two weeks (twice a month) is too often. She does the new school pressing where she blow dries it straight and then straightens the hair with a ceramic flat iron--she does not actually use the hot comb. I am very satisfied with how it looks and feels, but I'd like to know if once every two weeks is too often for hair to be pressed/ flat-ironed.
I don't think it's too frequent. In fact, when I used to press my hair (I'm thinking about going back to it too), I did it once a week. A lot of deep conditioning and heat protectanct, but it still looked great and grew healthfully. I got a texturizer only because it cuts down on the amount of time it takes to do my hair, but I am seriously considering going back to the press. I didn't know about this new school pressing. They can get that flat iron all the way down to the root of the hair without a comb?? Wow...
Q:Is there any kits out there that include everything, but a press. I already have a used pressed, but I would like the buy the rest of the stuff as a kit.
Check out Lee. They dont offer a set without a press, but an extra press sure makes reloading easier and faster. I have 2 single stage presses that I use at the same time to reload. I would recommend getting a set with another press and mount it next to your other press. When you load, you can do more in less time. I can easily put out 100 rounds per hour with two presses. If I push it, I can do 200. Just a little something for you to consider.
Q:Do you know of any device or method to keep a button pressed? I'm talking about real life - physical - buttons of electronic appliances, not buttons of software applications (since these are the only results I find in Google).
duct tape?
Q:Explain the garlic press to me. Are you just supposed to squeeze juice from it, or does the press mince it up? And do you get the same results if you just finely chop a clove of garlic with a knife? My friend says a garlic press is a must-have for the kitchen but I've never owned one.
a garlic press does mince and peel the clove 4 you...i love it cause I hate large chunks of anything in my food...although chopping fineley with knife ..you dont lose any garlic as you would lose a little with press... I use it often..
