Q:I have this executive office chair which, through an unfortunate turn of events, one of the legs on the base split off and makes it extremely difficult to sit in.I've tried repairing it with simple things like wire, rope, and JB-Weld, but the poor leg always seems to come off no matter what I try.I've looked into buying a new base, but after looking at the prices it seems it would be a whole lot cheaper just to buy a new chair. It just seems a waste to throw out a perfectly good chair just because one of the legs broke off, though. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use to use to try to fix it? Or maybe is there a store out there (online or not) that sells bases to executive office chairs fairly cheap? Thanks!!!
The only thing I can think for an easy solution would be, maybe at your office, in the near future, they might throw out a similar model chair with something else wrong and you could save the base from that one (assuming it fits). Even if it is a different brand, it might still fit, I'm thinking a lot of these chairs are coming from the same Chinese factory, they just put different labels on them. You might check with the guys that do clean outs rubbish disposal at your office and see, if they run across a junked chir, if they will save it for you so you can scavange the base. One other way. If the bottom of the legs of your chair forms a relatively flat surface, you might be able to cut out a circle of heavy (like 3/4) plywood that is about the same diameter as the base. Make some cut-outs so the wheels and the center post will clear. Then firmly bolt down the legs to the plywood. It might be better to use U- bolts that go around each leg, (including the broken one), they need to go right through the wood with a metal plate or fender washers nuts on the botttom. Whatever you do make sure it is safe, so you don't lean back and have structural failure, new chairs are cheaper than brain surgury! It might be a good idea to not have the secretary sitting in your lap to take dictation any more.
Q:I hear all the time that a chair seat is improper when riding a horse. I've seen pictures of what it looks like, so I feel like I have a general idea. However, I see riders constantly that ride with what I would associate with a chair seat. Most of the time, this is in western riding - and even western riders that are successfully competing. Sometimes the seat is really extreme. Now, I know there are differences between western and english riding, but I was always under the impression that a chair seat is bad because the rider has less control and it puts pressure on sensitive areas of the horses back. Does the western saddle just distribute the weight better?I'm not incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to horses, but I have ridden on occasion. I personally prefer to have my legs under me more as I feel like I have better balance and more control over what I am doing. So, what am I missing?
I cannot answer for certain, but I can give what I have experienced. I ride with a slight chair seat (not as bad as I used to, but my legs basically won't allow me to get my legs perfectly beneath me while not standing in the stirrups, joints won't let me at this moment). I actually feel like I have better shoulder control, especially with horses in training, when I have a slight chair seat due to my legs being closer to the horses shoulder and I have a deeper seat (I've never found a horse to be in pain due to chair seat, now I ride gaited horses so we don't trot, it may be different if you do have to trot) which allows for better seat signals (in my experience).
Q:i have an old worn 1930's school desk that im using in my room for a desk. (its just really cool...)it's plain-ish and a dark finish wood, its pretty beat up so i was wondering what kind of chair i could buy to use that was new but didn't look out of place with it?please help!thanks.
I think you're better off using an older chair. The good news is that you can go to virtually any thrift store and find something that will work. You can even recover the seat with your own fabric--just pop it off, stretch the fabric over the edges and underneath, and staple it in place! The bad thing about a NEW chair is that it doesn't have the distressing and charm that the desk does, so it will forever look out of place.
Q:I am going to go shopping for high chair of Tuesday and I need some help. My son is almost five months old.I want one that has several hight positions, removable tray (for easy cleaning), and possibly the seat can also recline to lower angle. However, these chairs are a lot pricier than the ones that don't have many position. So what kind of a chair do you have? Do you like it? What would you change on it? Do you think I really need all those features? Thanks in advance girls.

Q:In the commercials for power wheel chairs, it asked if you have fallen in the past month. And if you answered yes to this question I need this chair. My friend kicked my knee and made me fall. Do I need this chair?
If you can walk then no you don't need the chair. I would take it easy for a few weeks to let your knee heal though.
Q:or the actully name is Navy Velvet Sofa Chair
It's probably gotten from Gacha. There is a chair that looks exactly like that, but with a different name and it's called Warrior Throne. It's easy to get. All you do is finish the following NLC quests: - Subani's Legacy - ReVersal - Cleaning Up the Streets - Featherweights - Welcome to New Leaf City Quiz If you finish all those quests, talk to the NPC Icebyrd Slimm and he will give you the chair as the reward.
Q:What is the difference between wheel chair accessible cabins on cruises and non-wheel chair accessible? My partner and I are not handicap and I have been assigned a room that is wheel chair accessible. Can I ask the cruise line to change the room? Or it is not that bad?
My family has gone on 2 Royal Caribbean cruises with my father who is an wheelchair. Here are some additions to the wheel chair rooms: -generally larger. RC wheel chair rooms are actually 50% bigger than normal cabins. They take 3 regular rooms and make 2 (trust me...you can see the wall divisions!) -Balcony rooms have a little ramp out to the balcony for easy access. -the bathrooms are much larger and the showers are wheel-in. Now, I am EXTREMELY surprised you go a wheel chair room if you are not disabled. Royal Caribbean requires anyone booking a wheelchair room to submit a letter from a physician stating that it is required. They do this because the wheel chair rooms are much larger than the same class non-wheel chair accessible rooms but cost the same. So of course if they didn't require the proof everyone would be booking them for the space. Anyway, If you have a moral conscience, then you may want to tell the cruise line so that the room could be made available to someone who really needs it...but hey, sometimes it's nice to get something you weren't expecting!
Q:I'm going to buy one next week for my son and I want something nice... preferably compact, but not necessarily. I also don't want one of those you sit in a chair and strap on to it. I want a completely seperate high chair for him! Thanks!
We really like our Chicco Polly Double Phase high chair. It wipes clean very easily, both the seat cover and the trays. It has lots of adjustments. I use it up high at the table for dinners and lunch, but I like to use it on a low setting in the morning because I sit on the couch in the living room to feed our daughter breakfast. It has wheels on the bottom similar to office chairs so it wheels around easily (they also lock). It has a mesh pocket at the back where I store all the baby's bibs and the tray hangs on the back legs when not in use so it is nice and compact. It also folds easily and is very slim. Once your baby is ready to eat at the table it can be used as a toddler chair. It has two covers, one large more plush one on top for use when they are babies and a smaller pad underneath for use when they are a toddler.
Q:Bought a chair over the internet...no parts list or instructions. Any suggestions?
1.)Get a picture of the chair you bought from the internet, print it. Then separate all of the parts using the photo as a guide. 2.)Make sure all of the parts FIT! Preliminary assembly will be key to a successful project. 3.) Lightly wax the ends of each of the spindles, legs, crossbars, and braces, this will make insertion easier and prevent wood swell. 4.)Assemble the legs, braces and crossbars, secure them to the bottom of the seat, then insert spindles to the top of the seat, then attach the spindle frame . Assemble and attach arms last. I use Bee's Knee's Zipper Wax. It is 100% natural and is beneficial to the wood, not like paraffin, that contains methane and octane and I want those chemicals no where near my fine wooden furniture. Good Luck and have fun!... PS don't forget a touch of wood glue in each hole, ONLY after you are sure it perfect!
Q:it is the Fully-Reclinable Chair with Zero Gravity Technologyit is from a magazine called seventh avenue. it cost $299, $25 a month. (plz dont say something like
