- Q: I am redoing a little iron vanity chair that at one time had a pillow back. I don't have the orig hardware for it and would like to know how to do this.
- So are you asking how to reupholster the back of a small chair? Cut a piece of fabric at least 6 bigger on all sides, get a piece of batting 1/2 smaller all around than the area being covered and a staple or glue gun. Put the batting on the area to be covered, cover it in the fabric and pull the fabric to the back, securing with staples and or glue. Standard upholstery. Other wise, make a pillow the right size and shape and then tie it in place. I would add more detail to the question, maybe a pic of the chair?

- Q: My grandma use to have a lounge chair and it was the most comfortable chair I have ever sat on. I want to build one because it would be way cheaper. It was a chair that was curved to where your feet would be up but lower than your stomach and it would be to where your but sinks low and then your head goes up but its like reclining. - Q: Just wondering how to go about this. I have four table chairs that i would like to re stain. I tried just sanding it but the old varnish clogs the paper really fast. I tried paint stripper but when I go to remove it I always get tiny splashes that some how get onto my skin and burn like a mofo. I'm using gloves but some always gets on my face, not so good. Could I just soak the chairs in water that has a bit of paint stripper?
- Do not soak the chairs in water, it would swell the wood and loosen the glue in the joints. What I suggest is that you get the citrus type of stripper that isn't caustic to your skin. Use the stripper as directed on the container then sand away any remaining marks until your chairs are bare and ready for a new application of finish. I've used the citrus stripper successfully several times. Just allow everything to dry well before you sand again. You'll have to be patient but you'll be pleased with the results. Good luck with your project.

- Q: I understand wrestling is staged, but sometimes the wrestler doesn't block it and they get hit hard. I hear they slow it down somehow before they hit their opponent or something...This is the kinda thing I'm talking about.
- Most of the time, wrestlers are hit with the seat portion (the @$$ end) of the chair as opposed to the back support of the chair. Two decent wrestlers can pull it off easily without being stiff. Other times, the hands and forearms are used for the block but they fall and act injured anyways to sell the chairshot.

- Q: i am painting the inside of my condo, and i had an idea, but i am not sure if it works or not. from our couch, directly across on the other wall is the tv, to the right of it is the stairwell to the 2nd floor, so you can see it from the couch. i was thinking of painting the wall that the TV is on (which is a small wall) an accent color, and then, having a chair rail go up the stairwell, with that same accent color from the chair rail to the floor. I was wondering if i need to get a thin chair rail to do this , so it doesnt look too wierd 6 - 8'' above the railing. does this even sound like an idea that could work? HELP!
- Actually, what you are creating is a wainscotting and yes the idea will look lovely. Step back from the stair case, can you see through the railing? How large is the banister and railings? This will optically tell you the size of chair rail thickness you will need. If the banister is bulky, use a larger chair rail to balance it and so that visually it rises just above the height of the bannister to add bulk and so that you don't use a size that disappears against it. By using the same color up the stairs that you use on the TV wall, you are anchoring that end of the room which will give it more presence. Great project, sounds fun!
