You might have to register online and check that a payment has gone to T-Mobile, or sometimes the network just wants you to register before you can use your phone. It can sometimes take sometime for your balance to come through. When I got my contract it took about 5 days to start because there were some technical problems. If your balance doesn't increase within 2 days, ring T-Mobile.
