Q: I was planning on buying a cell phone from t-mobile, the motorola cliq xt. i was gonna buy the phone with a 2 year contract since it's cheaper, but i noticed the cheapest plan is $39.99. I also noticed that once i click the plan, it brings me to a services page where it says required services are android and T-Mobile Android Unlimited Web. do i REALLY need the unlimited web plan or can i just buy the phone/39.99 plan? the unlimited web plan is $30 alone so it would cost 69.99/month. this is my first phone with an actual plan(currently mine is pre-paid), so i don't know much about them. thanks for any input!: i recommend staying with prepaid. with that said, yes, most of there phones require an unlimited data plan for 30 dollars. and it's not just t-mobile that requires it, verizon is the same way. i say it's just another way for phone companies to get more money. i have straight talk and i love it. it's prepaid and it runs on the verizon network so it has great service. for 30 dollars a month you get 1,000 minutes, 1,000 text/picture messages and 30 MB of data or for 45 dollars a month you get unlimited everything. there's no roaming fees. unlimited calls to 411 at no extra charge, where on other providers it could cost any where from 1.29 to 1.99 for a 411 call. but that's up to you. i have had service with verizon postpaid, t-mobile, tracfone, net10, straight talk, verizon prepaid, t-mobile prepaid, u.s. cellular postpaid and i have to say prepaid wins. contracts really suck. yes the phones are nicer, but unless you pay full retail for the phone and not sign a contract, i don't recommend going with a postpaid account. good luck deciding.

Q: I would love some advice, I'm going to sign up for t-mobile but don't know which new phone has the best battery life-- I had a lot of problems with my last phone at verizon, so its really important to me that it'll last like at least two days also good keys for texting, and preferably a slider. He has the blast and I had the Nokia 5310 (i recently upgraded to the G1.) The blast is an ok phone. The battery life is not anything amazing but it is ok. I really liked my Nokia 5310. It was compact, had a great music player and it had a long battery life. I know its not a slider phone but you should really check it out. They also have them on sale for $50, just at your budget!

The 3.2 megapixel camera is also pretty good too! It has quite a few little extras that are quite nice like the basic calculator as well as a converter which is useful. The only thing i find really frustrating about the phone is that it doesnt allow you to put any content on it such as new games and applications unless they are paid for! It doesnt have a stylus as it is sometimes advertised. The other thing is it can be difficult to connect it to a pc because my laptop with vista can never locate the driver. The last complaint i have is the headphones. They're rubbish. but other then that the phone works well and is very stylish if you only want it for the basic calling, texting etc. hope this helps.
