Q:Here is the deal...*Van over heats*Blows Cold quot;heatquot;*Coolant leaks (not into the oil)*Added coolant and water (nothing happened)*Started van, felt the hoses (no h2o flowing thru)Ive had this problem for a while. Some times my van drives just fine and heats just fine, then some days it wants to over heat and blow cool quot;heatquot;. Adding coolant to my van used to do the trick, but now its not working. If it is my thermostat that is broke, the water/coolant would still run through the hoses right?I really think its my water pump out, but I am not sure. Does this sound like my water pump? If so, I plan on changing it myself, how do i find step by step instructions to do so.... I have never done it before, but I cant afford to take it to a mechanic! Thanks for your help!
Again, see last answer to your same question. You obviously dont know what the real problem is, could be water pump and might not be. Instead of wasting over 25.00 on a water pump and that not being the problem, why dont you take it to a reputable repair facility and have the cooling system analyzed and they can tell you EXACTLY what part(s) need replacing, then go from there. Nobody can diagnose your cooling system problem over the internet since we are not at your vehicle with a coolant pressure tester and block test tool.
Q:Even when all water is shut off in the camper, my water pump keeps running. Even when the tank is completely empty. Does anyone know what is causing this?
Camper Water Pump
Q:I put the new water pump in and the metal tube that goes to the heater hose it is hitting the wheel that holds the 3 belts that goes onto the water pump. why is it doing that. got the right pump. I have a 1986 firebird V6. any ideas?
if you still have the old pump match it up with the new one, if its the same the pulley backwards
Q:What is the function of the backflow pipe of the fire pump?
Generally, it is used to test the fire pump. The procedure is to start the fire pump - turn on the return pipe - return the water to the pool. The purpose of the installation is to prevent damage to the pipe caused by the excessive pressure caused by the pump.
Q:In this area (picture) its leaking quite a bit of coolant underneath the car it is heavy dripping. Could it be the water pump? Car is over heating .It almost looks like its missing a screw or something where the coolant is dripping.
You're trouble could be one among two.....The gauge cluster could be bad and want exchanged out(the dealer does no longer restore them),or the gasoline sender(or flow/level sensor)which is attatched the the gasoline pump(does no longer include pump)could be inaccurate. The vendor or repair facility easily makes use of your old sender when changing the pump(which is a dumb thing to do once they have already got the tank out of the auto). And oh incidentally........A GMC is nothing more than a re-badged Chevrolet....And were considering that 1996 once they stopped making GMC seperate on the truck and bus plant and diverted all manufacturing to the Chevrolet crops....Equal construction line, distinctive title plates,do not let anybody fool you about GMC being reliable grade,no more durability...Just more money !
Q:water pump pulley has slight wobble in it. not seeing water yet....is bearing going bad
Water Pump Pulley Wobble
Q:I have a 1997 mazda 626 4cylinder. For a while now, my hot n cold gauge keeps wobbling back and forth. I was keeping water in it and it was fine. A week ago it went all the way to hot and started smoking. There is water gushing out right beside the pulleys. I'm not sure if it is the water pump or not. Now, my car won't crank. Someone told me that it was the rotor button, but i can't tell if it is bad. I don't really want to take it to a mechanic. Can someone help me?????
your water pump is bad if it leaks or whines. Sounds like yours leaked when you rcar overheated. I'd suggest that the overheating problem may have been caused by something else though, as you said that the water levels were not going down until it overheated. I would suggest you may have had a head gasket problem or thermostat or radiator problem. Now it sounds like you have done a lot of damage by allowing it to get so hot. You may have a ruined engine I'm afraid. It might have seized. Tip;- don't carry on driving when it keeps overheating. It does a lot more expensive damage if you do. Take your car to a professional to get it checked out. Expect the worse. Sorry to sound so gloomy, but I'm just trying to prepare you. I hope for your sake it isn't as bad as I think. Good Luck
Q:Water pump "rated lift: 6m" what do you mean?
Popularly speaking, "lift head" is the ability of water pump to lift water. 6m means that the pump can pump water to the height of 6m.
Q:So I have a 2.4L chrysler cirrus. The water pump appears to be not working(pumping the fluid through) and the car over heats. They location is on the side since its a front wheel drive car. I have both a Chilton and Haynes manual and they both say i need to loosen the front engine mount and lower it. Thats about it really..Now i was wonder couldnt that mess up something. I dont plan on doing this myself but i would like to know how. Is it possible for the engine to fall out? Might sound stupid but im not sure how all that will work so i would like to know. Thanks -Joe
Just because the car is overheating doesn't mean the water pump is bad. I'd check the thermostat first. It's probably cheaper and easier to change to begin with and you should change it even if you do replace the water pump.
Q:Im looking for a battery powered water pump, or, solo powered water pump that will pump water up about 30 feet up and 30 feet out.I would like to bring water from a pond up to an out house, which s 30 feet away and 30 feet up from the pond.I know water is heavy, but if this thing only moved 50 gallons (a day for solar, at once for battery) that would be enough.Any links to products you have experience with would be appreciated.
There are many 12 volt water pumps at Northern Tool, which is an excellent company that my family has done business with for 30 years. Hook your solar charger up to a car battery. We have done well with a 15 volt solar charger on a single car battery for lighting at our deer shack. I dunno how many watts a pump would draw, and I am too lazy to calculate it for you. Eyeballing one pump at Northern, it looks like a 15 watt charger will be MORE than enough to keep that marine battery topped off.
