- Your cooling system holds as many quarts as your manual says. The radiator, block, cylinder heads, heater core and all hoses are figured as 100% empty in your manual. You probably drained just the radiator instead of flushing with a Prestone or Peak flushing T spliced in the heater hose return line and draining the block. You're down to two more things. Clean the cooling system with two 33 oz. bottles of Prestone Super Radiator Cleaner and follow the instructions on the back of the bottle to a T. It's a lot of work to do it correctly and understand why you're doing what your doing as you work along. If the water-pump isn't leaking from the weep-hole underneath the output shaft there's not a darn thing wrong with the water-pump. Finally, haul out your wallet and buy a new radiator after uou've cleaned the system. With the best of care automotive radiators crap out after 14 years of use. The internal cross tubes build up with corosion, calcification and rust.
- Q: When we turn our water on in the house it will run for a while and then shut off.. It has been coming back on after 5 0r 6 mins.it used to do this about once a week but now it does it every day we don't mess with any breakers because they don't get triped . We are on well and this well is about 7 yrs old anyone have an idea what could be the problem .. If any more info is needed I can reply..
- Your bladder tank is water logged, you will need to drain the holding tank and refill then check pressure, you will probably have to add air to the tank. There will be a shrader valve (the same kind of valve on your vehicle tire, use a tire gauge) near the top of your tank. Check the pressure first, if the pressure is low(there is a tag telling you what the pressure should be) you will probably have water at the Shrader valve. Very common where soil is sandy.
- Q: I had a re-manufactured water pump installed and after 14 months I started smelling my radiator occasionally. Never suspected the pump since my original pump lasted 60,000 miles and was still fine when they replaced it feigning quot;it is customary to replace water pump with timing beltwhen in actuality my Hyundai Elantra just needs the pump checked every 60,000 miles. The re-manufactured water pump was diagnosed leaking for sure after 20 months. Anyway I believe the leaking pump which didn't get discovered for at least 4 to 6 months caused the early demise of my radiator. Does that make sense? Thanks,Mitzi
- It is not likely that your water pump leak caused your radiator to fail. Your system was not holding pressure due to the leaking pump so the radiator probably did not fail from the most common problem of too much pressure.
- Q: Domestic pump automatic shut off the water, but also turn around, stop what happened?
- What should have Water Leakage place, check all the toilet faucet is Water Leakage, Water Leakage, water heater and so on, if no problem, to check the pump, which has a check valve, when the valve is broken, can not maintain the pressure, there will be the phenomenon
- Q: I need instructions
- it really depends on your make and model. different makes and models have different locations for them and what not. the best thing to do is buy a repair manual for your specific vehicle.
- Q: I tried using my water line with a pressure tank and pressure switch but without a pressure tank I observed that when he pressure reaches 30 psi the motor pump switches off automatically and when we open the faucets to use water the pressure switch turns on again the motor pump.
- A pressure tank acts to mellow out the surges inherent in the action of the pump. Without a pressure tank, the service life of the pump is diminished. Think of using a garden hose at full volume at the end of 50 feet of 1 pipe. That works out to 17 pounds of water moving at a high speed. When flow stops the 17 pounds of water has a tremendous amount of energy that has to go somewhere. It is better if that force goes into an air cushion at the top of pressure tank rather than into the vanes of the pump.
- Q: So when you exercise, is the amount of salts and water pumped out in the loop of henle reduced, if so why????
- During exercise the amount of fluid passed through the LOH is increased due to the increase in blood pressure and cardiac output. The actual balance of salt and water is regulated through a different mechanism. Chemoreceptors and baroreceptors in major vessels keep track of the relative concentrations of salts and pressures in the blood vessels and direct the release of hormones that affect kidney function. For example, while exercising excessive sweating may increase the concentration of salt in the blood. To counter this anti-diuretic hormone is released to increase the amount of water reabsorbed by the kidneys. During exercise, the amount of urine produced is lessened because the water balance is used to produce sweat to cool the body. In response to the loss of water, the concentration of salt in the blood increases which triggers the thirst impulse in order to dilute to blood to normal concentrations.
- Q: My car broke down yesterday and is waiting to be towed to the mechanic (2000 Dodge Neon). I'm pretty sure the Timing Belt broke, but my water pump was broken in the process and leaked out lots of water. Would the timing belt break the water pump when it snapped? Or does the broken water pump lead us to a different conclusion? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Also I was reading online today about interference engines, but couldn't find a list to verify if I have one of those or not. Anyone know? Thanks!
- As far as I know, Neon's do not have interference engines. A bad water pump can cause the belt to snap, not usually the other way around.
- Q: What does water pump mean?
- A device that applies power to a liquid and transfers it to where it is needed.
- Q: Im replacing the water pump on my cougar but i ran into a snag. I got the pump unbolted but to take it off, i need to unbolt a bracket that goes behind the power steering pump pulley.
