Q: we changed the water pump in the car and now the horn sealtbelt light on the dash board and the speed aumator are not working what is the problem?
when you change a water pump it should not cause any other problems but if you are not careful it is possible to nip/cut an Electric cable and be shorting out other parts of the system. Go back to the start of job and follow it through till the problem is found fix it.
Q: This only happens while I am running water. I can hear the pressure switch clicking on and off the whole time I am doing dishes, laundry, ... Since it is only when the water is running I believe that means it is not a leak. I changed the check valve and that did not fix the problem. I checked the pressure in the tank and it seemed to be around the 20/40 mark. Any other ideas anyone? Thanks.
It sounds like the bladder in your pressure tank has ruptured.
Q: i hear water swirl in my dash board when i take off and when i reverse, i heard its the water pump pushing water through the heater core, but how can i fix it.?
Sounds like you have air in your engine cooling system. Newer cars are notorious for trapping air pockets in the engine when the coolant is changed. Take the car to an auto repair shop and have them bleed the air out of the system.
Q: vw tells me the pump is defective, bad water circulation. i noticed the fans did not turn on when it began to overheat. is that irrelevant with the pump being defective? i even drop the car cold(i started the engine and drove) within 10mins it began to overheat, but the fans did not turn on. is it just the pump? the fan switch is new, no fuses are blown. the radiator and fans are less than 2 yrs old. 2000 jetta
It could overheat in much less time. It sounds like something is wrong with the fans regardless. If you have a radiator with a fill cap, you can check for circulation from the fill neck. You will need to accelerate and watch for flow from engine. Your thermostat will need to be open before you can do this, so give it a few minutes for this to work (up to 190 degrees). It is rare for water pump to cause circulation problem. The impellers on the pump rarely are a problem if you maintain the car. Pumps normaly leak from the weep hole or the bearing will fail. Thermostat failure will not allow for circulation and it will show quickly.
Q: 1988 fleet wood prowler 22HJust bought it, first time camper owner. I need a battery and a water pump. I only want to buy one, but don't want an overpriced pump. Preferably one I could find at a chain store locally. Can anyone recommend a good one? Also, is there anything I should know before I take my camper to a rv hook up site? I have a pressure regulator that will twist on my spicket on the outside of my camper. Do I need any other kind of regulator, or hose, besides my pump before I go hook up?Can I hookup without a pump? The pipe is capped off where the pump would go. Thanks!
If you are connected to a campsite water supply you do not need a pump. The pump is only required to deliver water from the fresh water tank of your camper to the faucets and if equipped toilet of your camper when you are not connected to City water, ya I know I have probably been connected to an actual City water supply 4 days in over 10 years of trailer camping... but any campground water supply is referred to as a city supply in the trailer literature. The only accessory I recommend to have is a combination filter which will stop both sediment ( very common in campground water lines ) and secondary charcoal filter which will reduce both taste and chemical intrusions on your system / palate. Would I buy a basic system demand pump? Yes, but if the cost of the pump stands between your camping season and your camping plans for the season, cancel the pump and camp!
Q: I have a 1 HP water pump that will pump water through a 1 and 1/2hose. What is the approx. GPM (just to have a reference) of a pump like this?
The capacity will be limited by the pressure drop. Assume 15-40 GPM depending on the length of the 1 hose. This is provided that the 1 is then split into four 1/2 hoses. Otherwise the flow will be highly restricted by the smaller diameter. The efficiency of a small centrifugal pump is around 50%. The general water pump equation at 50% eff. is HP = GPM psi / 860. So for one horsepower the GPM = 860 / psi Therefore for 20 psi the flow is 43 GPM, at 40 psi it is 21 GPM , at 60 psi it is 15 GPM
Q: What will the water pump reversal situation?
The same will reverse pump water, but the head and the pressure greatly reduced, I just finished debugging a pumping station, Stephen multi-stage pump, installation of equipment: multistage water pump motor power 4 75KW 76% head 100 meters, frequency control, motor nameplate nominal current of 143. According to the direction of the motor steering pump mark OK set the start time of 28 seconds after 5HZ boot head start frequency can reach 50 meters (at that time did not install the pressure gauge cannot observe the water pressure of current) in early 118 about 3-5 minutes after the current is reduced to about 97, there are inspection found no problems, suspected pump problems, suspected foot valve not completely open, the reason cannot exclude the end of valve, almost in despair when the thought is not marked in the direction of the pump, re set to restart the current 129.5A to observe that later installed capacity reached 0.55MPa duct pressure gauge head close to the design requirements, the problem on the manufacturer's mark is reverse.
Q: My truck turned off by itself and a bunch of steam and smoke came out and my radiator was dry. To keep it running i had to have the engine revved and at a stop sign hold the brake down. and slightly press. I'm assuming its the water pump however. It started yesterday as the colder weather started. What my question is what do you think it is and if you have experience with water pumps, how hard is it to replace i found one for $14
that don,t sound like the water pump. if it was the pump then it would overheat and leak out. check to see where it,s leaking at. if it,s leaking from the pump then it will have to be changed even though it still might not help it to idle. it,s not really that hard to change the pump on a 351W . the hardest part is getting into it. you might have to remover some stuff so you can work. the belt and water pump pulley will have to come off and the fan but that should let you into the bolts.
Q: i just moved into a house that has a small (about 40 gal) pond. i wanted to put fish in it. i have everything but the water pump. i've been looking around and i've found many solar fountain heads (about $30) that are pretty cheap and then i found a solar oxygenator for $100. which one would help the fish more? flowing water or just oxygen?
Flowing water adds oxygen into the water... So Id go with that one.
