Q: What does insulated wire do?How does it differ from regular wire used on breadboards?
Insulated wire is .... insulated. That is, it has a layer of plastic or rubber around it so that there is no exposed metal (except at the ends) and thus minimizes the shock hazard, and also helps prevent accidental shorts between wires. Non insulated wire is bare, it has no insulation, it's just a thin copper bar. You can use either on breadboards, so I don't know what you mean by regular wire. .
Q: the fused ignition wire and illumination wire, i cant figure out where they go on a Dual stereo system model1225 Help. ( on a 1990 ranger )
the ignition wire is going to be a yellow with a black stripe(car wire) and the instruction manual will tell you for the head unit illumination wire i just taped up since my head unit didnt require it =) like they say...if it turns on it dont need it
Q: i changed the sprak plugs wires on my 1990 300e and when i put the car on Drive it vibrates strongly. i kept checking that each wire is in the right place and on. do i need to restart the brain or reprogram the car ?
Sounds like you still have a wire crossed somewhere. Just for the future Change one wire at a time. Hope this helps good luck!
Q: wiring kit, subwoofers
by wiring kit do you mean the amps power kit? some of which will include speaker wire for the subs anyway usually your amp will come with instructions that tell you what the minimum gauge is the amp will accept for power, this is the gauge power and ground cable you will want to get maximum power to the amp and to prevent overheating issues, typically amps under 400 watts rms power will do fine with 8 gauge, amps 400-1000 rms will use 4 gauge and 1000+ will use 2/0 gauge wire, for the subwoofer speaker wire you can never go too big gauge only too small, a kicker 12 gauge speaker wire will work for almost any application
Q: Ceiling lights wire guage
I think most answerers are thinking you are asking about the size of the wire to the light fixture. Is this what you mean or are you asking about the wiring inside the light fixture?
Q: Besides the speaker wires, what do the remaining 5 colored wires stand for on a stock 03 Mitsubishi Galant radio?
See if they have a Haynes book for your vehicle at an auto store. In the last pages they have the wiring diagrams and the colors.
Q: i had a wired linksys router. can a linksys wireless network usb receive signal from the wired router.
there's a small RESET button on the the decrease back of the router. it quite is probable the process the subject you would be wanting some thing alongside the strains of a paper clip to push the little button in (its fairly small and recessed). interior the set up mode circulate into stepped forward settings and there could be a scroll down cursor to get the right placing.
Q: i need thin insulated wire like this.
it is called enameled magnet wire. try an electronics supply house or a motor and transformer electrical supply house. you can also purchase it online. you could also just take apart an old electric fan or door bell and unwind the magnetic wire. ~the other answerers don't understand wire, enameled magnet wire has a fine enamel insulation that needs to be sanded off in order to make a connection, as the enamel electrically insulates it to prevent an obvious short, but allows the inductive fields to easily pass through. it is used in all motors and most xfmr's.
Q: I am trying to run a wire from a breaker box to a new plug. To get to the new plug, I have to run the wire over a garage with a finished ceiling, around, through, or over 2 half staircases ( bi level) to get to the unfinished wall to run to the new plug. What would be the proper way to run this wire.
If you don't need a dedicated line, just tap it off the closest outlet to the new location. Otherwise, can you run it thru the garage attic and down the wall into a crawl space? You may have to surface mount it along house, or use buried cable outside. Without seeing it, it is hard to say. I'm an electrician and we have had to run things all kinds of ways.
Q: I'm installing a remote start system in my car, but I can't find the tach wire. Does anyone know what harness it is located in, and what color the cable is? I've looked over the diagrams, but I can't seem to find the cable that runs to the tach guage.
You can use a wire from a fuel injector. They should have two wires. Look at all of them and use a wire that is NOT common to other injector wires.
