Q:What type of cement/concrete do I use for making broken glass countertops?
Broken Glass Countertops
Q:can i get my teeth whitened even though theres still cement?
You should probably go to your ortho and see about getting the rest of the cement removed. Dentists can probably also remove it, so you could ask your dentist if they can and then have them remove it. If your dentist can remove the cement and you're getting your teeth whitened by your dentist, you could probably have the cement removed and then get them whitened at the same appointment. You should call your dentist's office or ask at your next cleaning appointment about the cement and whitening your teeth. Who knows? Maybe if you call they might be able to get you in that day to get the cement removed. Hope I helped! :)
Q:Is cement board necessary when tiling over concrete?
Tiling Over Concrete
Q:How do i colour cement between tiles?
If this was just done , get them back to redo the areas with the thin set showing through. If this isn t possible the next best thing to do is to dig out the area with the thin set showing and regrout , with the same color of grout. You need to get the same manufacturer of grout or it won t look the same.You just can t go get some grout from any place and think it ll match. Has to be the exact same brand and color.. The last scenario is to stain the whole floor with a grout stain. It works but is a last resort way to cover the thin set. Take off any lumps or excess cement with a plastic or wood scraper. Cement stains ( as long as we are talking glazed ceramic tiles), you can 1 st scrub , dry , with a white nylon pad. After this is done , use an OTC grout and effervescent cleaner. This you mix with water, rinse well. Get the cement stain off before you do any thing with the thin set and grout. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. Q:A 30kg bag of cement mix contains 25% and 75% sand. How much pure cement must be added to produce a cement mix
♦ (30*0.25 + x)/ (30+x) =0.40; thence 7.5 +x =12 +0.4x, hence x=7.5 kg;
Q:Information on Non-Portland Hydraulic Cements?
You are looking at lime based mortar and concrete (opus siginum to the Romans). I have used ordinary builders lime, dry in bags, and mixed it as you would with cement 5:1, and let it rest for around 24 hours before use. the great thing about lime based mortar is that when it begins to go hard, you can add more water and mix it again without loss of strength as would be the case with O.P.C. It does take a long time to set, weeks if the weather is cold and wet but the resulting mortar is very good for stone and soft brick as it will allow the structure to move and settle, also when frost freezes the water in the wall, it is the lime mortar that is blown out, not the stone or brick.
Q:Ideas on painting cement block?
For your walls, first use one or two coats of a good quality primer followed by one or two finish coats. The best paint for the floor is an Epoxy paint. Your home store can recommend something for your specific conditions.
Q:Does wearing snowboard boots on the cement damage them?
Yes... It will slowly wear them down and curve the edges... It will smooth the bottom of them and that can be dangerous if you are going to use them because they can slip out of the strap
Q:Hi, I am having an extension put on the side of my house and bought some cement last year, however it is hard?
Dome dweller is not right as the powder is roasted, and crumbling it is not going to restore the chemical properties of the original cement. I use old cement for things that don't matter much - like laying paving slabs, and use about twice as much as fresh cement. It will set fine and perform OK but it is much weaker than good stuff so dont use it for walls or anything important. £800 is a load of cement - should be 200+ bags? If not you need to look for a better deal - phone some builder's merchants when you are looking for the next lot and get it delivered the day the builders are starting. COver it up or better still keep it inside. Any left over unopened bags will last a long time if they are in a sealed binbag as the paper sack is only moisture resistant, and the cement will pull moisture out of the air to go off like you present lot.
Q:Fence Posts and Cement?
I use wet concrete and a few hours later when its begun to set hose the footing with a load of water to settle the ground and make sure the cement fully swells up.. If you use wet cement you will have to brace the post until it sets if you use semi dry you can tamp it firm and hold the post fairly firm wet concrete will swell up more giving a better footing is my opinion is a good idea to put a shovel full of loose gravel into the bottom of the hole, before you pour the footing to help drainage.. if I was doing the job for myself I would use the driest pressure treated lumber possible and soak the ends that will go into the concrete in a bucket of creosote for at least 24 hours
