- Q: Hi i would like to ask what is the diference between the two versions of wiring the RJ 45 connector. when I was making my first networking cable, i used the wiring according to an image that only was using/connecting four wires into the connector. the cable works and works well. Now i found plenty of other images, all of them reccomending the full /eight wires/ connecting. Do I run my network on lower Mbits/sec? what are the other four wires used for? Thanks
- You should terminaqte all 8 wires even when running at 100M 10M speeds are ok using just the 4, but at 100M, while the unused pairs do not carry a signal, they do help with attenuation.
- Q: I have a carrier thermostat with red, green, yellow, white and blue wires. Bought a new honeywell, omly has red, green, yellow and white terminals. What do I do with the blue wire. Right now it is connected to rc with no jumper, but nothing works.
- This is an educated guess, even though we don't know how the furnace is wired. In many cases, the blue wire is used for C (common). Tape off or snip off the end of the blue wire and don't use it. Put the red wire on the RC terminal. Jump RC to R or RH if you have heat. Connect the other wires to their corresponding terminals. If blue is common, there's a good chance you blew the fuse on the control board (if your air handler has one) and/or you fried the transformer. That is, if you tried turning on the A/C.
- Q: do speakers function better with thick or thin wires??
- This Site Might Help You. RE: when wiring car speakers.. does the thickness of the wires matter? do speakers function better with thick or thin wires?
- Q: I dont understand it I am trying to get a 1ohm load on a 2ohm dvc speaker but cant figure out how to tell if the wire you connect in the postive terminal on the sub in a neg wire or positive how do you tell what the gray line is on this diagram positive or negetive and how to tell. thanks
- this is what you will desire to do. merely connect the beneficial to beneficial terminals on the subs themselves and the negatives to negatives mutually besides. you will % 4 man or woman wires for that when which connect the subs as much as the container with one portion of the terminals to the beneficial and unfavourable wires and do the resembling the different sub. Then connect the two one among them to the comparable terminal on the amp and that's a a million ohm load.

- Q: I have 4 gauge wiring ground and power cables, as well as a smaller guage wiring that is colored grey. I have the amp hooked up to the gound and power, how do I connect the sub to the amp?The subs is a 08 L7 in the kicker truck box wired to 2 ohms. The amp is the Alpine PDX 1.600.
- take (i use 12 gauge wire on my sub installs) 16-14 gauge wire and hook up the positive on the amp to the red terminal on the sub and negative to the black one. I'm not really sure what you need exactly
- Q: A 5.07 m length of 2.1 mm diameter wire carries 703 mA current when 22.3 mV is applied to its ends. Determine the resistivity of the wire.
- Resistance of a wire in Ω R = ρL/A ρ is resistivity of the material in Ω-m L is length in meters A is cross-sectional area in m? A = πr?, r is radius of wire in m Use current and voltage to determine resistance. Plug that into the above and solve for ρ. Be sure to change numbers into meters.

- Q: i have old wiring for a stove that iam putting in ,a new box but i have only 3 wires 2 of them are white and 1 black how should i connect on a 4 wire receptacle? on the receptacle 1 white 1 green, 4 a ground then it says x then y ???????
- You don't connect the 3 wires to the 4 wire receptacle. You leave the receptacle that was installed in the house alone and get a new cord for the stove. You need a 3 wire cord and what you do is on the stove, you connect the white and green (neutral and ground) wires together to the white on the 3 wire cord. Doing anything other than re-wiring from the electrical panel to the stove would be dangerous to you everytime you turned on the stove. Put the receptacle back the way it was. Any problems, call an electrician to fix it and be honest cuz he'll know you're lying as soon as he looks at what is going on. Are you sure that there are 2 white wires? Is one of them accidentally painted white by the painters that originally painted your house? There should be a black wire, a red wire and a white or uncovered copper or aluminum wire. The black connects to X and the red to Y. The green and white wire on the stove connect to what they called ground when we were wiring houses with 3 wire systems. Connected any other way could cause you to get shocked everytime you turned the stove on.....or worse, you could die. If you don't understand what you're doing, stop and have a friend call a friend who knows a friend that is an electrician and pay the guy his hourly rate which shouldn't be more than $25 to hook this up for you.
