- Q: What is floor glue? What is the price of floor glue?
- Floor glue is actually the floor adhesive, has nothing to do with the PVC floor, mainly in the installation of traditional wood flooring and PVC flooring as a cement floor adhesive. (V), ethylene copolymer (E), synthetic latex (SL) and epoxy resin (ER), and the epoxy resin (ER) and the epoxy resin (ER) and the epoxy resin (ER) ). Among them, V and E products are emulsion type (1) and solvent type (2) points. Price: the general is about 600 a barrel or so,
- Q: What is the thickness of the anti-skid tiles?
- 10MM or so.
- Q: I have Brazilian Walnut flooring throughout my downstairs. I have used every wood cleaning product known to man and still have dull floors. The latest thing I did was apply amonia to strip the floor of all of the products I have used and WOW what a mistake! I can now see splatters and scrub marks all over. Can someone please offer any advise??
- The floor may be dull from the different products used on it. You may consider hiring a hardwood floor contractor to buff and recoat the floor. This is a very simple process that usually runs $1 per square foot and takes only about 1-2 hours to do. This will remove some surface scratches and bring back the shine for a fraction of the cost of a full sand and refinish. It involves very little mess. Then after you have the floors recoated use Bona hardwood floor cleaner. they even make a spray mop similar to the wet swiffer.
- Q: I just had tile put down in my kitchen. And I hate it, Some of the squares are cracking and the floor is hard to keep clean.I need to know another flooring that will be good for high traffic in the kitchen. The main flooring under the tile is plywwod that's what all the floors are made of in my house. Is that gonna be a problem no matter what floor I choose?
- I sell floors for a living. Your tile company should have installed backerboard under that tile. If it has been less than a year (most companies have a one year labor warranty) MAKE THEM FIX IT. If their labor warranty is expired, sue them and make them fix it anyways. You paid good money for that floor...make them do it again right. And you can install most any floor covering you want over a plywood floor. If you don't like the cleanability of ceramic (grout can be a pain to maintain), then consider a solid vinyl tile, like Adura from Mannington. That's what I have in my house. Love it, easy to keep. Good luck
- Q: I am looking to live in a second floor apartment. How big is too big of a fish tank to put on the second floor? I have a 75 gallon now. Is that too big. My fish grow fast, I upgrade my tank every year so how big before I have to live on the first floor?
- If the apartment is wood construction then I would be comfortable with a 75 or 125 as long as you place this along a supporting wall, a corner is better and make sure it goes over several beams in the floor as opposed to all of the weight being on one rafter. If they're concrete floors don't worry about it and get a big tank.
- Q: I installed a floating floor and it seems that water can penetrate between the seems. how could I seal these?
- As to a Pergo or any type of laminate or floating floor the installation is the key. All floors have some kind of locking system which should deter most of the water from seeping through, they all have some type of repellent finish. If installed correctly the amount of water would be minimal. But, as with all laminate and floating floors water spills should be wiped immediately as replacing a single piece is virtually impossible w/o taking the whole floor up,
- Q: My condo is on the 3rd floor & I'm looking to replace the 3/4 white oak floor with 5/8 strand woven bamboo. After removing some of the oak I have found that the sub-floor is a concrete slab (I'm unsure of the thickness) covered by 1/8 of insulayment underlayment. On top of that are two(2) layers of 3/8 plywood screwed to eachother with 3/4 screws. The plywood is not attached to the 1/8 insulayment mat or the concrete slab in any way. So my first question is, is this normal floor construction? My seconod question has to do with the fact that there appears to be green mold between the plywood planks & behind the baseboard. Should I be worried? Thanks in advance. I appreciate any help you can offer.
- It is pretty common to use a plywood underlay in concrete muti-story residential. It acts to keep the floor covering warm and dry. a vapor barrier layer is also a must have. The green mold may not be mold at all, it can be a form on oxidation due to moisture inherent in concrete. If you tear out the plywood, you should replace it for your flooring to last. a strong bleach mix and mop will kill mold.
- Q: What kind of surface preparation should I do and what kind of paint to paint over old floor tile? The tile are really stuck firm to the floor. Thanks,
- Can't . Must remove tile. Might need a heat gun or blowtorch. Need more information on type of tile!
- Q: Can jacking up a floor be used to create more living space or a whole new level between two existing floors? Is this possible when trying to add an extra floor to your house? Thanks.
- Is this a hypothetical question? Did you mean to ask Why would someone put jacks under a floor? You do not jack up a floor in normal circumstances. If the house is tilting, perhaps due to the foundation settling, then people sometimes put jacks under the floor beams to restore it to level. Sometimes workmen will put jacks under a floor beam while they replace whatever is under it. And if they are moving a house then of course they have to jack up the entire house to put wheels under it. No, it is not normal to jack up a house to build more living space under it.
- Q: can i install over the top of existing vinyl flooring
- Two floors is the limit according to my installer. So be certain that there is only one vinyl floor below the new one you are installing. Not only do you have to be certain that the one beneath is well adhered, but you should etch off the no-wax shine for the mastic to glue the new floor with sticks.
