- As far as a clear magazine, that would only be useful in loading situationsAs said before, when firing you know when the mag is empty because the bolt locks to the rear, exposing the chamberPersonally I have always found it easier to carry a dump bag and the Bushmaster mag pullI personally don't think it would help because you'd have to line up the magazines and get in between the two, where as with a dump bag you just throw your empty mag in and pull another one out, a process that takes maybe 3-7 seconds (depending on how good you are, the more combat experience you acquire and the more under fire you are the quicker you tend to change mags)It's a good idea, but I don't think the military would go for itAs a suggestion, you should look into replacing or coming up with a better spring for the current m16/m4 mags, as they tend to malfunction when fully loaded with 30 rounds (I almost always loaded mine with 25, carrying the left over rounds in an extra mag)I have seen soldiers have to take apart mags time and time again to have to work the spring, if you could improve upon that I guarantee you it would be well received.
