- Q:hi, we need to put tiles for a room of size 10x16 fts . we will be using 2x2 ft vitrified tiles. I want to know how many tiles are required and how the cost of tile is defined in shop. (price is for 1 piece or 1 sq feet ?)
- 10x16=160/(2x2)=160/4=40 tile you have 160 sq ft if they price it that way you need 40 tile if they price it that way If the tile come in 12 per box then divide 40 by 12 = 3.4 boxes which they most likely will make you buy 4 boxes (extra in case you break a couple. While doing the job, make sure you mix the tile out of the boxes so if there is a difference in color your floor will not show a change in color but will have the colors mixed across the floor..... - Q:Im looking into renovating our kitchen and thought i would cut some costs with doing some renovating ourselves. Is tiling easy to do yourself, how is it done and what surfaces can they be laid on?Thanks
- Laying tile isn't hard,go to Lowe's or home depot and get a tile saw,it doesn't have to be a high dollar one,they have Rhino board for the places that have to be stable and moisture proof,and get the trawl for it,it doesn't take a lot of the glue,you'll see the teeth on the side of the trawl,put some on the wall or floor,run the trawl(teeth side towards the surface,leave lines of glue about 3/16 s thick,that's enough to hold it,if it big tile squares make it a little thicker,they also have some spacers for putting between the tile,keeps it straight as well,then let it harden up and grout it,have several 5 gallon buckets of Fresh water(replenish the water when dirty) and a good sponge for wiping it down shortly after grouting.
- Q:We are trying to sell our house so I‘m not interested in professionalism...just something that works and looks decent. We have a small full bathroom that has some tile coming off one of the walls. Looking at it, it seems the entire wall of tile is ready to come down. The problem: every wall is covered in glazed tile (which I know makes a difference) and the bars need to be screwed in.My question is this: how? - dont drill to fast nor too hard, but using a carbide bit is the best, try putting some masking tape around where u drilling hole

- Hello, I assume your question is trying to distinguish the differences in the companies or the difference between ceramic and granite tiles? lol, if its regarding difference between ceramic and granite tiles I can give a little insight: ceramic tiles are usually cheaper and maybe weigh about 1/5th of the weight of granite. Granite is very hard to cut, since it is stone. Its harder to cut granite than it is to cut marble per say. Granite will last a whole lot longer and won't scuff up or crack if you drop something on it, like ceramic tile would. You have pro's and cons with both products. I have replaced floors using both tiles and although the granite tiles look better and are more classic looking, the ceramic tile is much easier to put down. Cost comparison on regular granite in the state of Georgia from Floor Decor runs about $2.00 sq foot. Where as in ceramic tile ranges from about .75 to 2.50 per foot depending on style etc... - If I were you, I would replace the cabinets first. That will make the rest of your measuring easier. It would be even better to just plain strip everything out of the kitchen and lay the floor first, then the cabinets and tile. But that is assuming you won't need the kitchen for a few days.

Swimming pools should be a fun place but this has to be balanced with safety. Whether you are an adult or a child there is significant danger associated with tiling around pools!

- Q:I am completely re-doing one of the bathrooms in my home and I would like to put in a stand alone tile shower. Can someone tell me what the best material to use for it would be? Ceramic, porcelin, slate, travertine, marble?? Are any better for walls/floors/wet areas than others?
- The tile isn't as important as what the tiles are mounted to. Make sure you use material specific for wet areas. as for which one to use, it would depend on which one you like, and can afford. I like the looks of bigger tiles, but would much rather install smaller tiles. Bigger tiles can be a pain when it comes to making difficult cuts.
