The canister vacuums get tangled and caught on furniture. 4. The cords get in the way and easily fall out of the electrical socket. 5. They are too powerful and suck up bathroom rugs and fringe on rugs, or not enough suction. 6. Hardwood floor attachments only have a small hole in the center instead of the entire width of the attachment. 7. Rug beater (carpet attachments) eat rugs and get hair wrapped around the beater bar. 8. They are too loud. 9. Bags are difficult to find and are expensive. 10. We've gotten rid of all our carpets - vinyl or laminate floors only, which has eliminated all the pet odors. - i wasnt impressed, i just bought a new vac, at walmart, hang on ill get the name Bissle power track, it was less than a hundred dollars, it sucks up the hair from three cats, it has a filter before the motor and a hepa filter on the exhaust, the replacment for both is ten bucks per package, you can wash out the foam filter that catches dust before it goes through the motor , i do that every time i use it, wash the foam filter and dirt cup out, good sized dirt cup , no bags, several height settings, onboard tools, rotating brush on the floor and one on the hose for your upholstry, im sold on it.

- Hoover Windtunnel PAWS, made especially for animal hair. I love it, it was inexpensive and picks the hair up like no other vacuum I have owned!
- Q: That has good suction that is under $100? I assume the Dyson would be good but they are 220 and 270 dollars. I don't want one with weak suction.

- Q: I am looking to replace a vacuum cleaner. I have had several Hoover Windtunnels and just purchased and returned a Bissell Pet Vac. I have five dogs and three cats and have been going thru vacuum cleaners about every two years. I am considering spending a bit more money hoping to have a vacuum last longer and was looking into the Dyson. I hate to blindly spend that kind of money on something when all of the reviews are from people who haven't had theirs very long. I am looking for people who have had their Dyson 4 or more years and I am interested in the good, the bad and the ugly. I am looking into the DC07 animal and the DC17 absolute animal. Please only serious responses from owners who meet the above mention criteria.Thanks!!
- coming from someone that's owned a vacuum cleaner store for 15yrs.,I have worked on all of them .The dyson is the best you can buy,I'll tell you why,there's nothing you have to buy for it ,no bags ,no belts ,and no filters.another thing about the dyson is there is a 5yr. warranty.I've studied all of them and there is nothing as durable as the dyson.I would buy the DC-17 Absolute, unless you want the extra attachments then get the DC-17 Absolute animal.hope this helps.
