Introduction of Expanded Vermiculite/Agriculture Vermiculite/Bulk:
Vermiculite board is a non-combustible board in which the unique cellular structure of vermiculite is maintained and controlled by a pre-treatment process. This gives excellent thermal insulation properties with dimensional stability at high temperatures. It is used extensively for the fire protection of structural steel elements in buildings to provide up to 240 minutes fire protection. It may also be used to protect sheet metal ducts and for the construction of smoke extract ducts.
Features of Expanded Vermiculite/Agriculture Vermiculite/Bulk:
Vermiculite that consists of thin, flat flakes containing microscopic particles of water. We are well reckoned as one of the overruling vermiculite manufacturers based in China. Our raw exfoliated vermiculite is available in fine, medium, and coarse grades. High insulation, vibration absorbent power and lightweight of our raw exfoliated vermiculite make it perfect to be used for construction purposes. Our raw exfoliated vermiculite is widely used for petrochemical structures, nuclear stations, and chemical plants and in various other sectors due to its fireproof insulation property.

- Q: i found lizard eggs. do you have to help them hatch?are they allowed to be exposed to the sun? what temperature do the eggs have to be in ? do the eggs have to be in a incubator? what else do i need to know about hatching lizard eggs?
- I have been a Herp breeder for years. You can hatch the eggs yourself. You do n ot need an incubator, just a small plastic shoe box with vent holes on all for sides. For native lizards you can just use regular dirt for the substrate. Use 2 part dirt to 1 part water. When you place the eggs in the box do not turn the eggs on their side, you will kill the embryo;s if you do. As long as the inside of the box stays around 80 degrees the eggs will be fine. Check the soil from time to time. Keep i damp not soaked. If the eggs start to dent, add a little more water around the eggs.
- Q: I‘m going to try my hand at planting this spring, but I live in an apartment, so all of it must be done through a pot.I was wondering if any of you had any tips on what sort of soil to use for best results. Peat moss, top soil? As you can tell, I have absolutely no idea what I‘m doing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
- Hi! The best choice for an indoor potted plant would be a good potting soil like Miracle Grow and make sure it has vermiculite and/or perlite. They are usually the little white things in the potting soil and they help hold in moisture so the soil doesn't dry out too soon. The biggest thing, though, is to make sure you follow the directions for your plant and make sure it gets the proper amount of sunlight and water. Many plants, especially tropicals, need to be kept moist, but not wet, and cannot be allowed to dry out between waterings. But back to the potting soil, I think Miracle Grow is best. Good luck with your green thumb!!
- Q: I have added seeds to soil in a plastic egg container (in the hopes of getting a mini greenhouse effect) and have kept the soil hydrated since sowing the seeds. I sowed them about 10-14 days ago and it according to the answers on here basil should have sprouted by now.Basically I want to know what has gone wrong and what I should do next time. Should I plant them or water them differently? Thanks in advance.
- This is a really interesting subject! I am growing basil too but I planted my 1 week ago and no signs as yet! One problem could be due to the fact that you might of watered them too much therefore making the seed rot. Usually seedlings appear after 1- 2 weeks which is what it says on bbc gardeners world. They should of appeared by now however maybe you have planted the seeds a little too deep? It doesn't harm planting the seeds a bit light as long as the water does not wash them away! If they do germinate your seedlings should be ready to be transferred into bigger pots about 5 weeks into the growing. The soil also needs to be drained as this also causes seeds to rot! Another option is maybe your seeds are out of date because out of date seeds rarely germinate! On the back of the packet there should be a date Here are some really good, reliable websites if you want a bit more information that yahoo can not give you: www.bbc .uk/gardening/digin/vegetables/basil.shtml - This is an animation and is really helpful www.bbc .uk/gardening/grow_your_own/expertgrowers_herbs.shtml www.herbexpert .uk/GrowingBasil.html I hope this helps and good luck!!!
- Q: What is a good mixure of cement, vermiculite & sand to cast molds?
- Neither. Use Vermiculite
- Q: what is this white stuff that they put in the potted plant ?
- Hello, 1. Okay I use Vermiculite for breeding crickets, this is used for Tarantula or snake bedding. You need to soak dry Vermiculite for up to 24 hours, although it may be more costly than other beddings, you don't need to use much,as it expands when soaked. This creates a perfect egg laying ground. 2. You can buy a small heat mat,for reptiles etc,but I find room temputure is perfectly suitable. Hope I helped.xxx ADD: Yes I forgot to say,Peat moss is also ideal a few people use plain play sand, reptile sand is better as it won't contain possible bacteria. A tub is fine,as long as they do get some light. Ensure they aren't over crowded as this will 'breed' bacteria. I wouldn't of thought a heat mat could melt plastic, they generally don't get hot enough. My lizards have heat mats, which they sit on! Remember, since the tub has limited ventilation using a heat mat may be too much. :) x
- Q: Vermiculite in the end what color is good, my how like false?
- Usually from biotite to hydrothermal alteration or weathering. It sometimes appears as large biotite (this is the biotite illusion of vermiculite) and sometimes becomes slightly soil like. When the vermiculite is heated to C, it expands 20 times and bends. This is a bit like vermiculite leech (Hirudo, commonly known as the leech) so it has such a name. Vermiculite is usually brown, yellow, dark green, oil like luster. When heated, they turn gray. Vermiculite can be used as building material, adsorbent, fireproof insulating material, mechanical lubricant, soil amendment, etc..
- Q: He hasn't eaten in a week or two, but he's not blocked at all because he pooped, and now, of coarse, he's not pooping any more because he hasn't eaten anything. Do you think the problem is one, because I took out his vermiculite, or, two, because i recently switched him from a 20 gallon to 30 gallon. And I don't really have the money right now to take it to a vet, so do you have any advice? His tail is still fat, but his body has been getting skinnier. Is something wrong?
- As it happens, SC is the largest produced of vermiculite in the US - and so there should be a great deal of case law on the subject. Count yourself lucky inasmuch as asbestos has not (yet) been found in SC ores. Check with your local county extension service and determine what your rights are. At the very least you should be protected from dust. Noise ordinances vary from location to location, check with your municipality on that. But, it is a sad fact that in many 'red' states, environmental regulation is minimal if at all - they consider themselves to be business friendly for the sake of 'jobs'. You may have to contact the EPA for any actual regulation on the actual mining process. Look up your local MSHA office in Columbia. They have a hotline.
- Q: Can i use verminculite as substrate in my reptile habitat for a chinese water dragon?
- I only use vermiculite for starting seeds. Compost alone fortified with slow release fertilizers and a mineral source should be all you need.
- Q: How can old vermiculite be sterilized?
- Vermiculite comes out after being processed at a high temperature. It can also be said that it has been sterilized at high temperature during production. Vermiculite is very resistant to high temperature and can be sterilized at high temperature
- Q: I am doing a sculpture project with younger kids and know if you mix plaster of paris with vermiculite it will soften it and slow the drying time, making it easier to carve. I can only find perlite , which the garden store people say it the same thing gardening wise- but it is a rock whereas vermiculite is clay based. Is this different for plaster-carving wise/ Ever tried it? or Both?
- SOME old or foreign vermiculite has asbestos. If you buy a present day product, it will not. The asbestos would not hurt, but would help the incubation process. Remember, asbestos is one of the best insulting materials known.
