Q:sump pump, no water.?
yes the ground water in your area is draining back into the ground away from you which is what you want
Q:HOUSE WATER PUMP COMES ON EVERY 10 SEC WHEN WATER IS ON?
You should have a pressure tank or bladder tank (same thing) in the plumbing after the pump. If you do have a pressure tank it could be waterlogged.. most all tanks in the last 20 years have been bladder type tanks. the bladder may have leaked inside and filled the tank with water leaving no room for expansion. it should have a valve on the top of it like a valve stem on a tire. Check the pressure on it with the pump off. it should be about 4 pounds more than your pump cut on pressure. Or you could have a bad pressure switch. There are LOTS of kinds of pressure switches, so I won't even try to tell you how to check it. but the pump should run till the pressure is built up in the tank then sut off and not come back on again till the pressure on the lines is lowered to the cut in pressure on the pressure switch.without more specific information or a pic I can't help much more. First thought is pressure tank needs checked or replaced. Good luck.
Q:Looking for help picking a water pump.?
I think you may want to look at the small pond pumps and just about any nursery or home supply store or landscaping store. they may have the specs on hand, or see if they can demo one for you. some places have a display pond set up already. You also might try a small swimming pool pump and put a voltage regulator in the line and adjust the pump speed that way. maybe rig a sewing machine pedal in the line and use a C clamp for an adjuster. I love rigging thing. It may not work with a gfi plug.
Q:Replaced the Radiator on my accord last week, and this week the water pump failed. Are they related?
If your radiator went then it is highly likely that regular maintenance ie rad flushing, fluid changes have not been taking place. Water pump will have nothing to do with the rad, unless when rad was leaking you ran vehicle with no lubrication (water-antifreeze mix) to water pump. The pump will just seize up or crack. These issues are probably just age related. If the rad was defective or you had coolant issues, the lights on your dash would indicate low fluid engine overheat of course you wouldn't drive it then. Everybody knows what a dummy light is for, right.
Q:What's the difference between a cold water pump and a hot water pump?
Cold water pump is generally packing seal, hot water pump is generally mechanical seal. If the cold water pump is used to transport hot water, the common trouble is that the shaft seal is easy to leak and the water pump is easy to damage. Generally in the design of building water supply and drainage, cold water pump and hot water pump can be selected according to the cold and hot water. Water supply and drainage design manual (common equipment) and pump manufacturers Water Pump samples can be found.
Q:Toyota 2006 Sienna, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Drive Belt & Trans Pan Gasket replacement?
I agree with the other two- don't go to the Toyota stealership. They are heavily overpriced. The timing belt service (-which should include replacing timing belt, crankseal, cam seal, waterpump and drive belts) should be more like $600-750. The pan gasket- if you really need it done- should cost you (worst case scenario) $150. All this can be done at any independent repair shop for considerably less than the stealership. Check around though because some independents can cost you almost as much as the stealership. Also, there are shops out there with great prices that do shoddy work- but from my experience, most of the less expensive shops seem to be just as good as the stealership.
Q:broken water pump 2003 PT Cruiser?
Changing the timing belt and water pump on a PT Cruiser is about a difficulty level 7 out of 10. If you do not have much mechanical experience, give this job to a shop and pay the $500 to $800 to have it done right. Done wrong could cost you an engine.
Q:2000 Chrysler Voyager w/broken timing belt, water pump, needs thermostat and coolant flush?
Yes as the water pump moves the coolant. They could have collected and reused the old coolant and added a bit of water to get the level up. Get it checked at a local garage(or buy a tester yourself) to see how strong the mixture is so you know how low you can go.
Q:Already changed water pump and still leaking???
yep........... your car has a 3100 or 3800 engine.... more than likley the intake gaskets are bad... take it to the shop and have it checked out..... this is a very common problem for these engines......dont listen to these other idiots they dont have a clue.....waterpump housing.....thats bullshiit
Q:I have already replaced the thermotast but my vw bug still overheats .it blows water thru the tailpipe?
sounds like a head gasket to me, I'd get it checked immediately.
