Do you want to know the area of the RUGs overlapped or separated.

Q: I need to replace my 45 year old carpet. It is showing it's age. But one thing that has never been done is having it re stretched. Not one wrinkle. It lays as flat and tight as the day it was put in. So this beings up the question. quot;Should a properly installed wall to wall carpet ever need to be re stretched?quot; I have noticed many carpets in newer homes that are all wrinkled. Q: If I removed the rug the color will age and change darker but will the floor where the rug was blend with the outer Perimeter?: Is there a lot of sunlight coming into the room? I had that happen at my last house and its because we had a lot of windows with a light floor. Take up the rug if its not that bad and let them darken to the rest of the floor. If the floors are real, not laminate, then you might need to reseal the floor with a polyurethane to keep from bleaching. Check with a flooring company and see if there is anything else you can do.

Q: I have this OLD area rug from my grandmother. The pattern is beautiful and the rug itself is is good condition, however I'd like to brighten it up! -Especially the white areas which have now gone yellow. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean/treat this rug and restore/brighten it without damaging it with harsh chemicals, like bleach?: I would reccomend taking it to a professional antique restorer.
