Q:i have a beautiful genuine chinese rug (not the cheap imitations) which needs a clean. it would cost a fortune to have it specialist cleaned i,m to frightened to try these carpet sprays etc in case the colour runs or ruin it. anyone with any ideas pls.

The way these beautiful rugs were cleaning before there ever was dry cleaners or any such... in the 1800s people used tea leaves. loose tea leaves are scrubbed into the rug..then scrubbed back out again. Check out the references on google.

A lighter blue or gray for the partitions with the blue carpet might want to artwork nicely. As for the black and white checkerd floor partitions, some thing that would want to artwork with the colour you chosen for the reception section if the partitions contact or might want to be considered at the same time as contained in the waiting section. you do not favor to get too funky with great clashing hues. you would possibly want to apply a sea foam eco-friendly colour. Find the length and width of the rug.I don't really need an answer, but the process I would use to get the answer would be helpful. I'm assuming you have to wet up two equations to solve it. If anyone could help, it would be well appreciated. There's a picture in the book of a rectangular rug with the diagonal going through it.

Not sure what you consider low cost...I've never seen any that I thought was reasonable. Quite a while back, someone posted a link to instructions for building your own. I'm sure you can google that if you're interested. I do have a suggestion about building your own, though. I don't have room or I would be doing this. One idea I saw on Trash to Treasure on Decorating Cents. Take an old desk, remove the drawers, remove some or all of the wood that is under the drawers so that you basically have a desk with drawer holes but empty space inside. Or perhaps you could cut holes in them and put them back....then cover the openings with some sheer fabric, and viola! you have a cool cat tree for next to nothing. The other idea I came up with on my own was to build a staircase. Or better yet, a ramp. Use a tape measure to determine how much wood you'll need - prop it against the wall at a reasonable angle and note the length. (6ft I think was the figure I came up with. Then get a piece of cheap wood in that length - or you could get two pieces and secure them together with L brackets or something like that. Make sure it's at least 1/2 thick or more - you don't want it to get bouncy. Carpet it, and viola again! You have a cat ramp. Be sure to secure it to the wall and/or floor. You could add a ledge at the top - just cut a hole in it so the cats can get onto it.

I don't know what wkd is, but here is a way to remove most stains that can be removed. A cup of warm water with 2 drops of a liquid laundry soap, mix well. Using your fingers dampen the carpet fibers. Try not to get the back of the carpet wet. After the carpet is wet , make a big pile of white paper towels on top of the wet spot. Now put a weight on top that will not rust or bleed from the water. Maybe a cookie sheet with a brick on top. Leave it covered for 12 to 24 hours. Remove . Look at the paper towel if the stain has transferred to the paper you are on the right track. Just keep doing it until its gone. There is a chance that the wkd has removed the color from the carpet and you can not fix it. Also you may have set the stain with the wine. For your information carpet cleaners have equipment and stain removers that home owners can not buy. Calling a carpet cleaner is a lot less money than replacing the carpet. One last word , your home owners insurance company may cover the cost of replacement.

Q:I have this rug that's in my garage that I want to put in my room. The years between 12 and 14 are known to be horrible, awkward, catastrophic years for everyone rug or no rug. If you want to purify the rug from any bad qi you should throw salt on it. Salt is a purifier. If you still feel that you are too superstitious and it is really stressing you out put the rug in the garbage.
