Q: The area of a rug is 108 square feet and the length of its diagonal is 15 feet. Find the length and width of the rug.I don't really need an answer, but the process I would use to get the answer would be helpful. I'm assuming you have to wet up two equations to solve it. If anyone could help, it would be well appreciated. There's a picture in the book of a rectangular rug with the diagonal going through it.
Let x denote the length of the rug and y denote the width of the rug. Since the length, width, and diagonal of the rug form a right triangle, we have that, by the Pythagorean Theorem: x^2 + y^2 = 15^2 == x^2 + y^2 = 225. . . . . . . . . . . .(1) Then, since the area of the rug is 108 ft^2, we have: xy = 108. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(2) By solving (2) for y, we have: y = 108/x. Substituting this into (1) gives: x^2 + (108/x)^2 = 225 == x^2 + 11664/x^2 = 225 == x^4 + 11664 = 225x^2, by multiplying both sides by x^2 == x^4 - 225x^2 + 11664 = 0 == (x + 12)(x - 12)(x + 9)(x - 9) = 0, by factoring == x = ±9 and x = ±12, by the zero-product property. Since the length of the rug must be positive: x = 9 and x = 12. From this, you can obtain that y = 12 and y = 9. Regardless, the dimensions of the rug are 9 ft by 12 ft. I hope this helps!
Q: What is the production of Carpet cloth?
The textile industry, Hebei Chuangxing Textile Machinery Co Ltd is specialized in the production of carpet loom, loom cloth, velvet loom, industrial cloth loom, can provide the best solution!
Q: My sisters cat which we had for about 9 months, unexpectedly urinated on our carpet, twice. Is there a reason for this? Our cat knows where the litter is, so why urinate on the carpet?
Cats can be demanding. Have you changed types of litter you use or food you feed. Cats urinate on things sometimes to let you know they are mad. Sometimes they think the litter box needs changed more often too. They change as they age so always be on the lookout for new things they don't like.
Q: Why is there so much chromatism when producing multi color carpet
So different batches, because dyeing is ralated with the temperature and humidity of the air, the higher the humidity, the darker the color, the lower the temperature, the brighter the color
Q: What is the difference between an area rug and an accent rug?
an area rug would be more to cover an area and the accent just adds to the looks..
Q: We've only lived in our brand new home for 1.5 years, and our carpet already has light patches! The carpet is that annoying tanish color that stains way easily, and it's stock manufactured home carpet, so it's not so great to begin with. A few weeks ago, I noticed a light patch in an area that would hardly ever be stepped on, even by our dogs. I don't think I've ever had to shampoo that area, except for in the summer when we had a guy shampoo the whole house. I decided to shampoo our carpets during Xmas break, and I'd barely begun when I noticed 2 more light patches! I highly doubt it's from our carpet cleaner. We use the same stuff the carpet guy used, and we've used it dozens of times without any problems. I decided to just let our carpet be dirty rather than risk any more damage, just in case. Ever had problems like this? I read a little about carpet dyes. Any experience?
If your home is a double wide (or larger), and you did not order it direct from the factory, then there is a good chance it sat on the dealer's lot for some time...and its possible some sunlight was allowed in thru the marriage wall. The marriage wall usually just has a layer of plastic over it for transport...some dealers leave it on while the home is on their lot, and some don't. Even a small hole in the plastic can result in a large faded area if it was facing the sun. (Some homes will sit on a dealerships lot for a year or so, before they are sold....plenty of time for the sun to cause some fading) There is also the possiblity that your cleaning chemicals did cause some fading....they all come with a warning to 'spot check' a section to see if they will cause any fading, before you are to use them all over the carpet. Since you mention dogs in the home, pet urine could also be a factor. And of course, there is always the chance that you just got a bad quality carpet to begin with. Different manufacturers use varying quality of carpet. Some are pretty good. Some are pretty cheap. A lot of the carpet being made today is synthetic...(some even use recycled plastic). Things like nail polish (or remover), or 'kool-aid' (its actually the sugar in the drink that does the damage) can actually alter the fibers chemically. Bleach dripped on the carpet will do the same, even if it is wiped up immediately. If a rag has been used to clean with bleach, or acetone (an ingredient found in most nail polish removers) is dropped on the carpet, or used when damp to wipe the carpet, it will cause the carpet to fade. If the carpet is in good shape, physically... little wear and tear, no holes, etc... then you may want to just have a professional come in to dye the carpet. Usually, this costs less than replacing the carpet, but get some quotes for replacing it too. Good Luck
Q: For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. Or you will own the #$% rug and the blame for the spot your cleaning efforts make.
Q: I just moved into this house and im so paranoid about keeping the floor in good shape, i have a 1 year old and a puppy who are making it kinda hard. So, I need a rug, my living room isnt very big at all, and in fact the living room is kinda long, but not 'big'. I want a red rug, dont know where to search though, and it would be great if i got it at a low price too, what size is a 2x3 by the way? I found one for 20 bucks, but not sure if thats like the size of a rug you put at the entrance of your doorway? help please.
A 2-foot by 3-foot rug would be fine at your doorway, but it won't give the rest of the room any protection, just a place to wipe your feet when you enter the house. Your room-area rug can be as big as the room will accomodate...but the bigger the rug, of course, the more $$$ you'll have to invest. You could start with a 6-foot by 9-foot in front of your sofa, which you could probably get at Walmart/Target/K-Mart for around $125. It will be nylon, and it won't last an eternity, but it should do until your puppy matures! Then you could look at investing in a nicer rug that won't get chewed on...or you-know-whatted on.....Good luck!
Q: SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? Only thing i could think of is get oxiclean and add it to water and steam clean the whole carpet and maybe it wont be as bad but that would take TON of oxiclean does anyone have any ideas?
Your okorder .
Q: What carpet is better for the hotel room
Business Hotel can use nylon printing or Wilton, Chris, it is more affordable; if it is star hotel , it should use better carpet, like handmade wool which looks beautiful and generous! it is high class
