Q: So does anyone know how to properly wash a rug. A living room sized rug.... 8x10... without damaging it or anything? My darling 2 y/o has spilt plenty of things on it and it's time for a washing!: i had this problem alot too, we eventually moved to a house with hardwood flloors in the living room (alot easier), but we invested in a steam cleaner for our carpets, running that every other month (for our family of 4) did the trick. or you can rent a Rug Dr. their great for cleaning carpets.
