Q: My Bissell finally died. I used to love Bissell but that was the worst vacuum I had ever bought. I am looking at canister vacuums now. I see the Kenmore has a high rating as well as the Electrolux and the Miele. I want something that will last and has low noise and cleans carpets wonderfully. Any knowledgeable vacuumers out there?
I am not up to date with the new canister models, but have always liked the quality and quietness of the Electrolux models. If you get something like a Hoover upright, you can also buy one of those extra long extra flexible extension hoses and have the advantages of both a canister and an upright in one.
Q: Boss want housekeepers to pay for vacuum cleaners, says they abuse them. Vacume Cleaners are are for residential cleaning and at the hotel we need commercial. Meaning the store bought ones are made for 5 maybe 10 times a month but are being used 400 times a month. I find this an unreasonable situation
im a front desk worker and I have done this work for 11 years and in all that time I have NEVER heard of a manager and/or owner asking or telling their housekeepers they had to buy their own vacuums. I do not think it is illegal but not ethical. the last hotel I worked for our housekeepers used orbit vacuum cleaners and those are household vacuum cleaners. our maintenance man cleaned them once a month. they lasted forever.. maybe that hotel needs to do that also.
Q: Don't men vacuum too?
Advertisements are set up to appeal to the audience that is most likely to purchase and utilize the product. Since, women are the the consumer that is most likely to use a vacuum, the advertisers try to show the women not only using the product, but enjoying an easier life because of the product. However, I've seen a few vacuum commercials which feature men. Plus, if you see a lawn mower commercial, it's probably a man riding it, because a man is the one most likely to use it in reality. ;-) I know it's disconcerting, but right now --- that's America!
Q: I have two pembroke welsh corgis who shed like crazy and bare floors (no carpet at all). I am looking for a great, affordable vacuum that does not collect hair in the bristles on the bottom of the vacuum but actually sucks it up into the machine. HEPA included preferably since I suffer from allergies to a ridiculous amount of indoor allergens. Any suggestions of good or even bad vacuum cleaners to buy would be great! Thanks :)
My Oreck does great on both carpet and hard flooring, but it is not a cheap vacuum. On the other hand, it has lasted me something like 15 years and still works like new, so in the long run it is probably worth the price.
Q: I have an oreck vacuum cleaner..is there a place that takes old vacuum cleaners?
If it's in good working condition, you could clean it up a bit, and donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army donation stations. If it's broken or in poor shape, you could try to call your local vacuum repair shop to see if they are interested in picking it up for parts.
Q: what are theTop rated five vacuums for cleaning?
I have bought different vacuum cleaners both cheap and expensive ones but some cheap ones out performed better in some areas than the high tagged ones. You can check out the link below for better reviews.
Q: i need it for picking up guinea pig droppings. i've built an indoor pen, with safe soil and grass i grew for them to run around in, just because theres dangerous things outside, plus if given the chance they would run away haha... thats how it is ( No matter how much you love them gt;lt;) but im worried, that all the handheld vacuum cleaners i can find claim to be strong, and able to pick up deep.. yaddayadda.. i need something pretty weak, because i dont want to uproot the grass/seeds. any advice?
Whatever you buy, DON'T buy a dry dirt cordless dust buster - if you can, seek out a Wet and Dry model and the cheapest ones with 6V batteries or less will give you a weak suction. Not a lot of hand held cordless dust busters are really that strong - even Dyson ones run out of power after 5 mins! However, You may find that it won't even pick up - a slight downside. Dry dust hand helds are only for dry dust - the wet and dry option has a harder filter that can be used for picking up droppings, plus it's easier to clean out. ALSO, big tip from me - if you are worried about it picking up the grass/seeds, just cut up a pair of old tights and line the mouth of the dust buster into one of the open toe sections - the Lycra allows you to suck up what you want but you'll have to manually remove the droppings : (. It's a trick I learnt when watching a program about the Queen in London! Handy for earrings etc too!
Q: I am trying to find a vacuum cleaner that works but has a security feature that prevents it from being stolen. I work in a residence hall and have inherited the task of finding new vacuum cleaners. This hall has a history of thievery when it comes to vacuums, so I am hoping to find a means by which to control usage of a vacuum either with a key, a code, a combination, a timer, etc. Checking them out and in has proven not to work so well in the past.I want these vacuums to last for a long time, and I want them to be able to power through almost anything (hair, stickers, bobby-pins, etc.). Thanks for the help!
That is a tough one. I do not know of a vacuum that has a lock built into it. The Miele canister vacuum cleaners have a handle. You can put a bicycle style lock through the handle. You could also do that with a Dyson. The Miele's last really well.
Q: They look like vacuum cleaners

Q: what brand is a good brand for vacuum cleaners other than dyson?
Hoover is Best !! Used it before I owned Dyson. Shark and Eureka are good too.
