Q:anyone know how to keep moths from destoying a wool coat and several wool sweatersi can't put them in moth balls but don't know of anything elselast year i lost three sweaters and they were wrapped in plastic bags in my closet.thanks.
Step1 Examine and repair your wool items before cleaning and storing themWith proper care, wool can be durable and long lasting fiber Step2 Clean your wool blankets and wool fabrics according to the directions on the labels before storing themPerspiration and food stains attract mothsBrushing your wool with a fabric brush can loosen moth eggs, but dry cleaning and laundering will kill the eggs and larvaeYou can also throw your wool into the freezer for a while to kill eggs and larvae before storage Step3 Store your wool items in airtight bags or plastic containers with lids that fit tightlyStoring them with tissue paper between the folds helps prevent wrinklingA cedar chest is a good storage area for wool fabrics, but cedar loses its smell after a few yearsA light sanding on the inside of the chest may restore it Step4 Use caution if you use mothballs or moth crystalsThey contain naphthalene, which may be harmful to children and petsAvoid placing them directly on your wool fabric and remember that the smell is difficult to get rid of even after a good airing out Step5 Check your wool occasionally to make sure you don't have a moth or moisture problemThe sooner you spot a potential problem, the easier it is to correct it and prevent damage
Q:I've been searching around for some ribbon and some fringe that will work with my costumeI've already got the bodice made and close to finished beadingWhat I'm looking for is some ribbon for a skirt I'm making out of yellow peach/orange and a silvery green fabricThey're vertical stripes and I'm looking for some ribbon that has those colors and an almost maroon red color to cover up the seamsI'm also looking for most of those colors in a fringe for around the brown overskirt I'm makingI'm just wondering if anyone has some ideas on websites I should check outthanks bye
I would check first local arts and crafts stores and stores that sell fabric, string, yarns and maybe they may know where to find what you are looking for.
Q:If you let yarn dreads lock, do the burnt ends eventually go away? How do they grow?
Not unless you cut the ends~ Because the yarn is not actually hair, it will have to eventually be removedYour hair will still grow and the locks will appear to be getting longer simply because there will be more space between your scalp and the yarn lock (due to new growth), however: your hair will not take on the same texture or thickness as the yarn lock, and though your hair can still lock in this state, it would still have to be maintained (ie twisted or palm rolled) to maintain the lockI do not advise locking your hair in this manner because the weight of the yarn lock will eventually lead to the breakage of your real hair and most likely the yarn locks will detach on on their own before your hair fully locks (not to mention the issues that the yarn fibers will pose to keeping your hair clean)If you want healthy locks the best thing to do is to start them with your natural hair~ Good luck : )
Q:i've been having chest pain since the beginning of january for some unknown reasonsi had an ultra sound of my chest, xray, blood and urine test, and that stress test thing.but everything came out normal except my blood tests.my cholesterol level is 173 (which is normal the doc said) my LDL cholesterol level is 100 and my HDL cholesterol level is 32.BUT my triglyceride level shot up to 206.which he said was highand i don't understand because triglycerides are made from the excess of carbs i dont use.or whatever it isbut i'm 6'1'' and weigh 165 and i'm 17.so it's not like i'm overweight or old when these kindda probs happenmy glucose was normal.it was 80 i thinkdoes anyone know what the risks of having high triglycerides are? and the doctor doesn't knoweither it's from a rib out of place or can it be from my crap for a diet? i've never had this problem beforewhat kind of diet can lower the triglycerides? any website i can look at that deals with this problem?
mohair - made from the hair of angora goats boucle - made of novelty yarn shearling - made of sheepskin or lambskin ramie - actually the name of a plant used to make some fabric twill - any type of fabric woven with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs suede - made from the under side of the skin from lamb, goats, pigs, calves, or deer wool - made from follicles of the hair from sheep, goats, llamas, or rabbits kidsuede - suede made from kid (baby goats)
Q:I have major constipation to the point where I bleed every time I do 2What can i eat or add to my diet (type of veggies/ food) that will get my digestive system back to normal and have soft/ normal stools? Please help, I take the substitute fiber powder and my stool is normal, but everytime I stop it daily, I have the same problemPlease help, and is bleeding so long gonna be bad for me?
They sure can and if you cannot provide them with ID or you refuse to provide them with ID you can be arrested for failure to identify to a police officerIf it is a crime hotspot that you were visiting it's likely that your info will be entered into a field intelligence databaseSucks, but that's the way it is.
Q:is it ceramic and tourmaline?if you had to pick the best top 10 clip-less curling iron would you included the Herstyler?
Hi there! I have one,it's ceramicI've got the little baby one,it's really cute and I got it in purpleIt works really well,I love itI burned myself the first few times but you just have to get the hang of itPlus,it comes with a thermal glove that let's you touch the iron without burning yourself,so it really comes in handy when you get to the ends and you have to hold the hair on it for a secondSo all in all I think it's a really good iron,it's easy to use,you just wrap the hair around it and hold and it looks beautiful when your done :D
Q:i dont seem to go to the toilet like i used to.i eat fruit and veg everyday and i know i have fibre in my diet.does anyone know any food really good high in fibre?
applesauce is great for making moist cakes just use less milk
Q:The RH in the room is 65% at 65 degreesThe rest of the house is 35% RH at 65 degreesWhy is there so much humidity in the converted attic roomWe have plenty of ventingWe have forced hot airCould it be possible the heating vent is introducing all of the extra humidity? We tried a dehumidifier and it solves the problem by removing the extra humidityI would like to know the source and get rid of it (if I can) instead of running the dehumidifier 24/7 during the winter.
Condensation occurs when cold surface meets warm airPicture a cold glass of ice water on a hot dayThings need some fresh air circulationYour attic room was possibly an afterthought and retrofitted improperlyThere should have been a space left between the roof and the ceiling for air which would include a vapour barrier on the warm side and insulation next to the sheetingThe solution is to remove the improperly installed interior ceiling and re-install a new one over a well vented and insulated roof/ceiling.
Q:I have a 100+ year old Victorian house, plaster and lathe - balloon framed. We would like to insulate without riping out all the walls, Hoping to fire retard the balloon framing also. We're in the Pacific Northwest - so it's wet.I have been led to believe that cellulose might wick moisture and settle within a few years, wheras expanding foam will fill and stay.Fire block is as important (if not more so) to me than R value.any comments, thoughts or caveats would be appreciatede - thanks
I use yarn for the scarves and blankets that I make, and other clothing/apparelI use the thread for things like crocheted snowflakes and doiliesI both knit and crochet, but I don't do amigurumi at all.
Q:What are the advantages of ceramic fiber blanket relative to rock wool?
Ceramic fiber blanket: ceramic fiber module is the main raw material, ceramic fiber module is the use of industrial furnace, energy-saving effect of one of the most remarkable refractory insulation materials. High temperature resistance, heat flow erosion, can be used instead of refractory bricks.
