- Carpet prices vary widely as does quality. But you can get a mid grade carpet and pad to cover any warranties for around 3$ a s/f installed. Of course you can get a better carpet ( and cheaper ) but you generally get what you pay for.. Don t down grade pad since this is the back bone of any carpet..If any thing this is one place to up grade to what you can afford. GL

- Depends on the exact backing on the rug you want to put down. A lot of backings can ruin wood floors.. Some will scratch them up, some will permanently discolor the wood.. If your using it just as a area rub, there are special thin mats that you place under the rug and they stay in place without having to staple them down, If your going wall to wall then I d suggest a padding to help stop this.. - I have never heard of a Girraffe coat or rug or a Polar Bear coat however, to find a Polar Bear Rug now may be very difficult and expensive but I would try the yellow pages in my community and call all the furriers listed especially if they sell Fur skins. You could even try the fur auctions such as the North Bay Fur Auction. Sorry I don't have a number.
- Q: My carpet has a mystery stain. It's very sticky and black and ground in. I have tried goo gown and soap and water. I need some sort of heavy duty carpet cleaning suggestions.
- Hello, Adding soap to the sticky and black ground in mystery stain is just making it worse. You are adding a surfactant (Soap) that gets sticky when it dries. You need to find out if the stain is a oil ( like food dropped ) or sugars like soda pop. First thing you want to do is get rid of the soap residue. If you have a wet dry vac. Get club soda and pour it onto the stick black ground in mystery stain. Use a soft shoe brush and start brushing the stain. If it is turning foamy you have to get DEFOAMER. Spray it on the carpet till you do not get any foam on your brush. (It cuts soap bonds so you can get the soap residue off the carpet). Keep adding club soda. Extract the club soda from the carpet. The black and sticky should start to go away. You should be left with just the original stain, or it should be gone. If you have no foamy residue and it still is sticky you need a solvent because it is an oil based spot. I don't know where you live but if you look in your local yellow pages for Carpet Cleaning Supply stores you can get Defoamer and Solvents to clean the carpets. BE CAREFUL WITH THE SOLVENTS USE AS LITTLE OF THE SOLVENT AS POSSIBLE. IT CAN DELAMINATE THE CARPET IF YOU USE TOO MUCH. (seprate the carpet backing from the fiber) Solvents will desolve glue. Robert

- That depends on the carpet and the dirt build up - if moderately dirty use a regular carpet spray type cleaner - but if really dirty rent a cleaner and use Folex a deep cleaning agent that cleans and deodorizes it also gets rid of pet stains/odor. If by regular soap you mean dish or clothes type never use that it is to sudsy and will actually trap dirt in the fibers. Good Luck
