- Q: I have bought 4 vacuum cleaners in the past that all have fallen apart or just quit running right in the middle of using them, and all were less than 6 months old. I got tired of buying high price vacuum cleaners and them not lasting even 90 days. I have bought Hoover, Eureka, Dirt devil, and Phantom vacuums all of them turning out to be what I would say to be large rip offs.
- You get what you pay for with new vacuums. What you bought was not high-priced stuff except maybe the Hoover. A high-priced new vacuum could cost $2,000. Go find a good used one at a sales/service place. I have a Filter Queen about 30 years old that just got its first repair. A new motor, $150 installed. I expect it to last another 25 years now because there's hardly anything else to break on it. That vacuum has vacuumed massive amounts of pet hair in the 25 years I've owned it, and anything else except water that would fit through the hose. I just helped a friend of mine buy the same model, $200 with a new motor, 2 year warranty on the motor, a year on everything else.
- Q: I have a 1933 hoover 800. It needs the bearings greased really badly. And I have no idea how to do it.
- then i suggest dont! you will never get it together again!
- Q: What is something that moves in a house not including people or pets
- curtains, clocks, doors, fans, toys, etc.
- Q: 1. Vacuum Cleaners2. Straws3. American Idol4. or ????
- NUMBER 3! I can't believe they got rid of Gina! Melinda is my favorite, but Gina is very good and should have stayed. I think this will be my last year watching. That show is just a bunch of baloney!
- Q: I have waited a year or so to finally get my hands on a hand vacuum cleaner because my mom said we needed to get a good one. Well she finally bought one, but she only bought it because it was ON SALE. I don't know much about hand vacuum cleaners, except this one SUCKS.It's by Sunbeam and it's called quot;Star Elite. It doesn't have a lot of power, only has a small opening to collect dirt etc (1quot;x 1cm) and is horrible at picking up stray pieces of hair. It only also works for 15 minutes and then it has to be charged for 15 hours. The main problem out of all that I have is the lack of power and horribly ability to pick up stray hair off the ground.Does anyone know a hand vacuum cleaner that is certainly better than this?
- Try a Shark vacuum.
- Q: I would like to know which vacuum cleaners are better - Hoover Vs Kenmore?
- I have a Hoover. I had a Kenmore and Electrolux. I hate them all. I finally went to Sears and bought a Craftsman Shopvac (they have a small canister style) and I absolutely love it!
- Q: Where are DYSON vacuum cleaners made?
- Germany, that's one of the reasons they cost so much. It's not necessarily that they are the best...they just have to get shipped a long way. When I bought my new house and I was picking out carpets the woman told me not to buy a Dyson. She said the suction is too hard and it tears the carpet up.
- Q: .....is that BAD? did he kill my vacuum cleaner? does anyone know about this?
- Hi there, I have been repairing vacuums for over 10 years now and YES it is bad. Not the end of the world though. Trouble is the fine material at the base of any fireplace etc is too fine and light for the cyclone system. What will happen is that a larger amount of the ash will go through to the washable filter and the cage holding it. This will reduce airflow to the motor causing it to run hotter. Because the motor is running hotter the carbon brushes in the motor will wear much quicker and will fill up the post motor filter. If you continue to use the vacuum you will burn out the brushes and ruin the vacuum. Simple fix - remove all filters and the dirt bin and turn the machine on. This will allow any dust in the motor to get out. Then replace your washable filter - dont bother washing it and reusing it - it just won't work Clean your dust bin thoroughly Get a different vacuum for cleaning out the stove
- Q: Not sure which brand I should bite the bullet on
- I okorder , I called up because a buddy of mine actually told me he went into their store and got a discount and got $150 off for calling up. Had it the next day in CT at $949 flat. Definitely would recommend Miele though. Germans always make the best
- Q: Can anyone please help me! I am soooo serious here...I have purchased two vacuum cleaners and they both SUCK. Bissel allergy one with the canister that you empty...It does not vacuum well at all, I can pick up stuff off the carpets better that the that. And then I bought a eureka vacuum from costco, not only is it hard to push, 4 months the screw came off the handle and is in the vaccum itself.....It is supposed to be industrial, and it is with a bag....and NEVER ever have I seen such scrap....I have new carpets so that is not the problem here...I also have pets....I do not want a tyson 3000 or whatever they are called...although they say they are good, and after what I have spent in these 2 vacuums I should have bought the tyson...So any suggestions or what you like would be appreciated...I am just fed up with picking up JUNK :PThanks you all..
- i have had all different vacuums the one i have is the best i have ever had, oreck,it has great suction and very light weight i have upright and the cylander they are easy push pic dog hair up and get right into the pile to both great i have had it years but they still sell them,i also kept my old dyson the dco1 because all the other dysons seem to go wrong, the handles break the motor dosnt last 2 minutes you dont hve that problem with o1,but i would definitly recomend the oreck good luck hope you get sorted
