Q:For my science project, need about 3 feet of copper wire...approx how much will that cost me? I want the wires to be pretty thin :)
Copper wire is probably the most expensive, but you only need 3 feet of it. Best to buy it by the foot and not by the reel. Home Depot has it. Or you can find it online (OKorder for example) as scrap wire but then you've got wait time, shipping, etc. If you know the gauge (thickness) you need, Home Depot will tell you on the phone how much it would be for 3 ft.
Q:My dog chewed the wiring and i dont know how to re-connect
Lets see, if your dog chewed the wires, he probably did it right at the valves. Here's what you do (depending on how many valves you have) 1. Each valve solenoid has 2 wires coming out of it. Grab one (of the 2- it doesn't matter which) wire from each valve and twist them together. Call this the COMMON wire (usually white). 2. Go to the clock/timer/controller and look to see where the wires are connected. Check to see which color wire is deginated as the COMMON wire (or doesn't have a station number designation) 3. Once you find out which wie is the common, go back to the valves and twist this wire onto your BUNDLE with a wire nut. 4. Connect the remaining wires at each valve to any corresponding wire (on the other end). Make sure that you eventually solidify these connections with waterproof wire connectors. 5. Check the stations at the clock, running individual stations and making sure the correct run-times correspond to the valve assignments- adjust or flip wires at the clock instead of switching wires at the valves.
Q:How are wired differ from wireless doorbells, next how are they installed and finally the cost of them?
just remember that while wireless may cost less, you have to have a wire from the outside button to the door bell itself and then you still have to have a way to power it. i have the wireless, it's idiot proof. a couple of batteries and your off and running. standard batteries like D's and maybe AA's good luck to ya. you can get a good variety at home depot or lowe's
Q:Im installing a motion sensor which comes with 3 wires, red black and white and want to connect it to a indoor light that only comes with 2 wires white and black. How do I go about installing them and powering them?
Hook the white wire to the white on the fixture and the white coming in. The black coming in gets wired to the black wire on the detector. The red gets hooked the the black in the fixture.
Q:Wire runs from breakers to a wall outlet along the garage wall
you need ot use ordinary romex of a guage that will serve the power draw you intend it for and a breaker to match. i fyou already have breakers you intend to use, be sure to use the proper guage of romex so as to not have an electricsal fire. furhter, you usually have to enclose romes, it cannot be exposed along a wall if it comes from the breakerbox. you can get romex in conduit at home depot, etc.
Q:i have just got a radio from a 2004dodge durango my buddy bought a new radio and i tok his old one, so now i need the wiring diagram to find out what all the wires goo too their are way more wires on thios thing that im use to on stock radios. ive looked it up online and its not the right diagrams the colors dont match up on the wires. ny help pleaseeee
If you havent already cut the wires then go to an audio store (best buy, local shop ect...) and buy a wiring harness. If you already cut the wires you NEED to test the wires with a test light and 9v battery and not rely on online diagrams because 90% of the time they are wrong. way to do it is find your positive, negative, and turn on wire with a test light. test every single wire with the test light to make sure there arent any live wires still left after you found your power wires. after you have done that to find the speakers take a 9 volt and hold one wire to the positive and touch every wire and listen for a speaker to make a scratching noise. when you hear the scratching noise then that means those two wires go to that speaker. if your totally lost then rewire the factory plug back on and then go get a wiring harness. theyre like 15-20 bucks and save you a whole lot of time and its a lot less mess to deal with.
Q:The t-stat comes with EIT module. that wires to the t-stat and the furnace. I'm having trouble with the module to furnace wiring.
from the thermostat you match 1,2,3 wires to the module, from the module to the furnace. - R to R (this is your 24V hot) W to W (furnace 24V input G to G (fan for cooling 24V input) Y to Y (cooling 24V input), there should also be another wire that connects with this that goes to the condensing unit C to C ( Common - must have this connected for IAQ to work) as with the Y, there should be another wire to connect to this that goes to the condensing unit. - maybe W2 to W2 if you have a 2 stage furnace, you'll know if you have a 2 stage furnace because the W2 connection on the furnace will be present. - maybe Y2, if you have 2-stage cooling. if you have a humidifier connect both wires from the humidifier selinoid valve to each of the HUM terminals.
Q:I no longer have enough 0 gauge wire would it be bad to use 0 gauge power wire to the amp and 4 gauge wire to ground the amp?
Don't do it you will get allectorcutted.
Q:1989 Honda Accord LxWhat is the wiring Diagram for the Stock stereo wiring harness?Just pulled out the old Stereo wanna put my deck in there now but i dont know the cars harness colorss.
Honda Accord 89
Q:I got the Rem wire down connected it to cd deck. But what does Rem stand for and what does it do?Remote Wire? what the hell it do where it run off?
The Remote wire is a wire (usually Blue or Blue/White) that comes out the rear of the Head Unit (CD Player) that supplies a +12V output when the Headunit is powered up and switches off when the Headunit is powered down. Some head units have a Remote and System Remote, in this type of system the system remote is as described and the Remote switches on and off when you switch between Radio and CD, this feed is usually used for an electric antenna or to power a booster.. -Daz
